I apologize in advance if there's already a thread on this, but im using an app in my phone to search and couldn't find it. Anyways, if anyone could possibly give me a step by step on separating the manual tranny from my KA it would definitely be a great help. 65934

remove the transmission bolts that mate up to the engine, use your eyes with a dash of common sense.

i think we need more details. how far did you get? you have to remove alot of other stuff before doing that. exhaust, driveshaft, radiator fan, and shroud if you have. strut tower bar can get in the way also.
basically your going to remove the tranmission crossmember and let it sag so you can undo the top bolts. make sure you engine mounts aren't broken so it'll support the engine/trans assembly when you remove the crossmember. you will need some extensions and if your car is a S14 with a crank position sensor, you will have to remove the shield on the CPS to get the bolt behind it.
feel free to PM me if you need more specifics.
Engine is out brah...
Remove bolts around transmission bellhousing and pull. That fat lump of crap will fall right out.

^^Totally^^
Engine out of the car is as easy as it gets. It's not going to come out without a little bit of a struggle. If the starter is connected, you need to take it off. Other than that, remove all the bolts and yank it. You may want to use a pry bar to get it started. Sometimes they are a little stubborn.

^^Think about it. If all the bolts and starter/slave cyl etc are out, there is nothing stopping it from coming out... other than what needs to be yanked apart inside the BH.
