As it sits as of 10 minutes ago. It was a Georgia car up until it came up here and the knocking started. That's when I bought it.

Tell him to go get a title.

Ain't worth a damn, and might as well be hot, without one.

The problem is, I don't have time nor money to go get another title. I haven't driven the car more than twenty miles and it's just sitting in my apartment parking lot. I have proof of ownership of the car with a bill of sale. I understand it causes problems due to the fact I don't have a title, but I think the price is justified for a good running 240. It's not my main car and I really bought it as a for fun project. That's what it really was! I learned so much from this car that I wouldn't had learned from my '04 chrysler! I just want it in someones hands who will actually use it.

I just don't want to have to part the thing out to get the money I have in it back out. I am not making a profit here and would just like to see it back on the road.

I'd love to buy it myself but I can't without a title unfortunately.

Totally fine. I completely understand. That's really the thing that keeps this car back. I'd love to see someone driving it. I just don't have the means of money to register and insure it + monthly costs on top of my other daily driver. Thanks though!

Bump, price drop to $750 for complete parts car or offroad use vehicle. Still no title or chance of one at this point. Perfectly drivable.

So there is no chance of a title at this point? I do have money if there is a way to get a title. Message back asap, as I am very interested.

Only way to get a title in Illinois is to get a bond title. What you would have to do is get an appraisal for the car as is. Pay 1.5 times the appraisal value and that money goes into a bond for 3 years. If someone with the proper title comes forth they get the money and you keep the car, which won't happen. After three years you get your money back and a correct title. You can register your car and insure on a bond title. The problem is I couldn't get a low enough appraisal for the car. Lowest appraisal I got was 1,500 and I am not about to put away 2,250 dollars for 3 years despite the fact that I'll get it back.

if his name was last on the title he can just apply/pay for a lost title. then wait the 30-60 days it takes to get it.

if its not in his name, everyone here is fucked. trust me, I live in this state and it's not worth the trouble for a beat up s13.

either missle the car and hope its not stolen/never has the vin ran. or use it for parts for another beater car. then you get to have fun ditching the shell. (in illinois you can't scrap the shell without the title. trust me, I've scrapped two junk shells in this state)

Thanks, but at this point it's really first come first serve. There is another member planning on picking it up this weekend, if that falls through I will be in touch with you!

You can still get a title with a bill of sale via Bond title. Proof here: https://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/publications/pdf_publications/rtopr26.pdf
Also vin has been ran by a couple other people on the forum, if you'd like to run it yourself vin is: jn1ms36p2nw108824
On top of all of that you can scrap on a bill of sale due to the fact that if the car had a title it would take money to transfer the title. A bill of sale is another way of saying you own it and you'd give the bill of sale to the scrap yard of your choice, I also have scrapped a few vehicles.
