Start off 93 240sx SR20 redtop. I was troubleshooting to see if my starter was bad. While reinstalling the battery got a little sparking on accident, and it blew the 75a alt and 30a ignition fuse. Put a new ignition fuse in and as soon as I turned the key it popped again. Not exactly sure where to start. Can a bad starter cause this problem and should I just start there as I am 90% sure it's the solenoid that went bad? Also, where can I get the 75a fuse as none of my auto parts stores carry it?

if your fuse pops immediately you have a hot to ground short somwhere. did you hook up your starter correctly, ground to ground. 12v to the 12v spot....... it seems you may have done it backwards or fukd something up somewhere. check your wiring harness, that is iyour problem... also like the opps will say...... SEARCH!! all the anwsers are online, that is how i learned

Weird thing is the only thing I have done was take out the battery to get it tested to eliminate that as the issue

If you don't have a multimeter to test with, disconnect your stater, disconnect your battery, get a few 25, 30 amp fuses make a jumper gig with a fuse in the middle. Connect starter, then battery, turn key to on, check fuse, then start if it pops when turning to start get a oem replacement, the short is gone. If the starter is engaged or is pulling power you would know when the battery is connected
I'm sure there are other ways, but this is one of them.
