240sx auto to 5 speed transmission

i got my transmission auto to 5 speed swap a month ago. drives well but recently i hear a whining sound under my shifter, quite annoying. i was wondering what might it be and how to fix it/also the cost. :)

did you remember to put in gear oil?

If so, it could just be you installed a worn out transmission. It could also be a number of other things- be more specific, or take a video.

On an sr20 a slight whining sound can be heard especially in 1st gear, when the shifter plate is completely open. Do you have the large plastic cover and rubber?

Did you install the rubber shifter boot cover in addition to a leather boot? The main function (besides keeping the weather out) is to cut down the noise.

As mentioned before with the boots being installed, those work wonders on noises!

thank you guys it stopped this afternoon but i hope it stops period my i do not have a shirt boot or shift nob i like it like that so i can throw my trash to the ground while driving o yea i bought brand new clutch and flywheel from exedy maybe it needs to break in?? o yea i just got my swap less than a month ago doe.
