Okay I have a problem

My car is dying in 1st gear. If I tap the gas a little the engine dies out and then it's impossible to start. It takes about a min of cranking and giving it gas to get going and if I don't rev it hard it'll die again.

once it's going it's fine but I have to keep it at 1000 RPM's to keep it from dying.

Any thoughts. High gear is fine, I was thinking fuel filter or injectors but I don't think that's it. Plus, there's black smoke when I'm reving it in 1st. :wtf:

Sounds like a sensor went bad. Maybe AFM or O2 sensor.

Check your ECU codes and it should show up. Not all failures will cause the check engine light to come on.

And of course check the usual vaccuum leaks and all that. Poke around and you might find something.

Well, to be honest I think I blew a head gasket. My car is now stuck in Arizona. If it is the head gasket I may be doing my motor swap a lot sooner then I thought.
