S13 240SX Hatch (or fastback..watever)

Hi all, I am new to here. I got a few questions to ask you guys. I am looking to buy a S13 240SX fastback (89-93 i believe). Right now i found one for $2500 bucks in pretty darn good condition. I plan on doing a SR20DET swap. But before i do the swap and when the engine and tranny is out i want to do a S13 front end conversion or a S15 front end (i think they have a conversion kit called the &quot;Strawberry face&quot;). Anyway do you guys know where i can buy the S13 conversion kit or the S15<img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> and what looks better to you guys? Also i am either getting the car sprayed metallica blue or yellow.

Geez... that's gonna be a lot of money.
For a sr20det conversion.. it'll cost about $3k if you find a cheap motor. &nbsp;So the $2500 car and the engine is $5500.
Then a front end conversion. &nbsp;I don't know if they even make a s13 to s15 conversion. &nbsp;But it is like $3500 to convert a s14 to a s14a. &nbsp;And like $4k for a s15.
So $5500 so far, and $4k for the s15 conversion (if they have one) is $9500!!!

Well i am doing all the work myself. (except for the painting part) I either do a SR20DET swap or i rebuild the KA and turbo it. Does the KA have a strong bottom? If i can't do the S15 conversion i want to do the S13 conversion. so it'll be a Sil-80 i believe?

No. &nbsp;The s13 bottom end isn't as strong as the s14. &nbsp;For the KA engines. &nbsp;I believe there is like a 5 psi difference that can be handled on stock internals.
The s15 looked nice. &nbsp;Are you sure that wasn't a body kit?

i don't think it was a body kit...but if it is I LIKE IT...lol....but i might just do the S13. So the S13 KA bottom isn't as strong as the S14 KA?

the engine alone with all the parts and labor is about 7000. &nbsp;and i dont think they make conversion kits from an 213 to an s14. &nbsp;unless you already saw that. i might have misunderstood you. &nbsp;anywho if they do make a conversion kit thats another $1000 to $2000 depending on quality. &nbsp; if you gonna pay that much for a conversion kit i would rather get a widebody (but thats just me) plus i dont really like cars that pose to be something theyre not. &nbsp;youll never get the chassis to feel as good. as for the paint job go for yellow.

Either one of those front ends looks nice. Although I would go for the jspec s13 look, because you should be proud of the model you choose. And it looks totally OG.

You should also be proud of all the &nbsp;work you've done to your car. And no one ever brought S15s to the US and people would definitely wonder what the #### that is. Plus, it would pay at import show-offs. One more thing: You've always got the KA24DE under the hood (maybe not all hatchbacks!) so why does the body matter that much?!?!?!

Actually, I heard about that &quot;Strawberry Face&quot; conversion kit. Its the acutal s15 fron end clip (I think its the real parts used on the actual s15) So, imagine a s13's light weight with the looks and the grace of the s15 =) excellent.

IMHO I hate the s15 look on our s13's and s14's. Only thing I would do if I had an s13 would be the silvia conversion like the before picture of that blue 240. That look is awsooooome! I would love to own a actaul s13 silvia <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> MMMMMMM

does anyone know what if there is a s15 frontend conversion for the95-96 240sx or are they just for 97-98. &nbsp;it looks like that conversion wouldn't fit because the front end of the 95-96 are to rounded.

No. There are conversions for all body-style 240s. A local body shop here said they'd do it on a '96 for 5 grand.

The S15 conversion is a cool look. I say go for it if you like it. definately a way for an s13 to stand out and be unique

S15 front looks great
Sileighty looks 10X better than stock
S15 front (Sil1580 / Strawberry Face) looks 9X better than stock

Very close but I like the Silvia frontend better.

That's retarded...it's not at all the same as making a saleen out of a regular mustang...besides those &quot;pretend saleens&quot; are giving you the illusion of pepped up cars with speed. An S15 front end is not...it's more like putting an S14MC front end on a S14. It doesn't mean it's going to be any faster...just possibly better looking depending on your tastes.

And if I hear one more person say &quot;but you can't put that on if your car isn't turbocharged&quot; I'm going to lose it. Because as we all know the S15 Silvia comes in non-turbo form too. It's the &quot;Spec.S&quot; and the turbo is of course the &quot;Spec.R&quot;...Now the Spec.S has the SR20DE instead of the KA24E but no one seems to care unless you have a SR20DET anyways...
