Hey guys. RB25DET s14, car only runs at 67 degree Celsius with fans off and cruising, and 67 degrees celsius with fans on at a stop, which only allows a tiny bit of heat. Any ideas on how to get it a little bit warmer so I can get more heat in the car?

Are you running a thermostat? Have you tested it to make sure it's not stuck open?

Sorry I forgot those details. New thermostat, new water pump, a koyorad, and one push one pull fan.

Damn, I wish my RB would run that cold...my shit gets up to 90-95* cruising. Are you running a Nismo thermo? Also, how are you seeing your temp? Using a PFC via the OEM sensor or an after market gauge? If aftermarket, where do you have the sensor hooked up at.

I hate to say this but I bought the car, and was told that all that stuff was new. So is it really new? who knows. Not sure if its a nismo thermostat or not. I'm reading it off my Apexi controller. The stock gauge doesn't get up into the normal operating temperature range unless I sit at a stop with the fans off.

Isn't it like a blizzard @ NJ right now?!?!

With that radiator, you most likely have a "colder" thermostat, hence why it is stuck on such cold temp.

hahaha it's definitely cold. Us New Jersians aren't used to negative temperature wind chills haha, but this was still the case back in November when it was in the 50's

Place a sheet of cardboard across the front of HALF your radiator. Tape it in place. Disconnect fans. Drive in stop and go traffic. See if engine reaches full temp.

It will reach full temperature just sitting there letting it idle. As soon as i start moving it cools off gradually back down to 67*. Last night when it was real cold, it was at 64*, but once i got to a stop light and sat for a bit, it would rise.

When you say full temp you mean like 90*C? What are the ambient temps while you're driving around? I suspect that it's just fucking cold outside and your cooling system is working fine.

That means your coolant system is actually WORKING! :wiggle: If it never got to operating temp under ANY circumstance, then you would have a problem.

I suspect the same thing. Even with a KA-T with stock rad in this weather i rarely see temps higher than 65-68*C according to Nistune. Highest ive seen my coolant temps climb to is 160F after driving around for a while. Its just that its REALLY REALLY COLD outside. Its been in the teens-->single digits for the past week in NJ.

yea full temp meaning 90*. When i first got the car it was in the 70's. It may be that everything is fine, i just didnt know if it was normal or incorrect.
