just put in an ACT clutch and now the car will not go into gear when it is on? the flat side of the disc is on the flywheel side so the disc is in right i bleed the clutch. when the car is off the car goes into every gear but when it on it will not go into gear. Also when it is off and i put it into first then start it the car just wants to go forward like the clutch pedal is not down.

the slave cylinder moves fully when the clutch pedal is engaged and disengaged.

what can be wrong with it? don't want to take it all apart again if i don't need to...

Use the right amount of Vtec fluid?

You might have to adjust the clutch pedal and bring it in. I installed my Clutch Master FX350 and the same thing happened. It grabs really low. So try that.

+1 for pedal adjustment

^^Yup- aside from reaccomplishing the bleed and verifying full slave travel, not much you can do. I had to adjust this and re-bleed recently myself... It appeared the slave moved- and it did... but not enough to pull the plate off the flywheel... good solid bleed with me & a friend and a pedal adjustment & she was gtg.

Okay so I used a autozone throw out bearing witch I don't see what the difference would be. I changed the master and adjusted back forth at many different a spot and tried it but did not work. Bleed the hell out of and did not work.

So I just took it out and put the stock clutch back in and voila it works perfectly fine again?

Everything looked normal when I took it all apart again.

So could it be a bad disc or pressure plate?

Keep bleeding it.

Remove the clutch dampner if you haven't already

Some good word of advice.

Never use auto zone parts, they ARE JUNK!!!

Try to get better quality parts, (NAPA, or O'reily).

AUTO zone has some shitty quality.

Clutch damper has been removed. Clutch line runs straight to the Slave cylinder. I bleed the system with two big bottles of fluid and nothing. When I put the stock exedy clutch back in it. Work perfectly fine.

Lifetime warranty. Been buying an Autozone alternator for several years on the Chrysler T&C. Every year I take it back and get a free new one, after the rear shaft bearing starts whining. Makes a horrible sound at the test station behind the counter, and they politely hand me a new one free of charge. That rear bearing is just a cheap sleeve bearing. I never buy Autozone parts for the Nissan. Getting tired of working on the damned thing, so one of these days I may get an OEM part. But Chrysler's track record has been lousy as well. Perhaps Fiat can change that.

The original used clutch disk is probably 1/4 inch thinner vs the new one, due to wear. That is the reason the pedal travel will need adjustment - to account for this difference in thickness.

If it won't go into gear when running that means the pressure plate is still touching the clutch disk. You need to adjust the pedal to push the threaded rod into the master cylinder a little more.

A little adjustment makes a big difference down at the clutch. I usually turn it no more than 1 to 1.5 turns and test it out. It can take a while before you get it correct.

It's right when it goes into gear with engine running and also does not slip going up a hill in higher gear (like ~30 mph in 3rd gear WOT).

You can also adjust the pedal to grab higher or lower to the floor within the 'good zone' for your preference.

Good luck.

i second that. never trust autozone parts unless you like doing the work x2

The new throw out bearing works fine with the stock exedy clutch so that can't be the issue.
