Cap & rotor replace

Yoo so im gunna replace my cap and rotor & i was wondering how do i get the rotor off? My friend suggested that theres a 8 mm bolt i take off then crank the car and it should come off, i feel like thats a ghetto way of doin it is there any other ways of doing this? If this wont risk harming anything then should i just do it like that?

Pretty sure its the same with the S14 KA. The rotor comes off with a firm PULL and pops right off, no tools required.
