240sx S13 Speedo not working properly

The speedo does work but it only goes up when it reaches either 40 miles or 1950rpm in 5th gear BACKWARDS! It says I'm going 85-95mph. Ive looked around the forums and didnt find anyone who has had this problem. When ever I'm not doing 40mph it just drops to the 110mph. It does work sometimes it will jump to 40 and read it until 45. After 45 it will go haywire and read 10mph off. Thinking it could be the speed sensor?

Take the cluster out, there is two small capacitors on the speedo that you need to replace. Unsolder them then solder the new ones back on. Or just replace the cluster. GL
