I'm hoping to do a Bride non-reclinable seat in my hatch, but I'm not sure that's an option due to my 5'10, 180lbs of nothing but junk food and beer. Everything I've found in searching says that all Bride's are a tight fit. I tried to find that back issue of Sport Compact where they tested a ton of seats and commented on how each one felt. Can't find the article. Any info on what seat might work for me would be awesome.

its DEFINATELY an option
check out the newer line..the III series
such as Zeta III Type L (if they make a type L)
check www.tees-usa.com
type L in the older model (if they still make Type Ls) is for taller and wider folks
the new III i hate...because im 5'10 and 155 lbs so i am sliding all over in it. should be ok for you possible, but dont buy till ya try!
also dont discount Recaro and Sparco buckets but you gotta watch out on the rail setup you use.
search mode for rail/slider info

i am the same as you 5'11 @175 and it is a tight fit. but not to tight that i'm not comfortable. i drive to irvine and back about 3-4 times a week. that is about 55-60 miles one way.
i have the zeta II type-L my waist is 36-38. to me it is perfect fit. but if you like it a bit loose go with a sparco
like dousan siad "don't buy till you try"!! cause that is $600+ you will be stuck with.

my friend just got some bride reclineables and when i sat in them they were a nice tight fit(i am about 5'10 and 165 pounds), but they were reclineables and i am not sure how close they are to the non-reclineable kind.

thanks for the link Dousan. I couldn't remember their website. From the specs on their site, and the help of you guys, I think the Zeta III type L would work best for me. Living in the middle of nowhere doesn't lend me the option of trying before I buy, however I'm sure I could sell it to someone locally if I have to. Jspec has them listed for $680+s/h. Seems fair, but any other good deals out there?

i'm 6'0 190, 32 waist and i fit snugly into my zeta 2. The only problem is that is slightly short and can't completely lean back onto my headrest. I put my regular seats back in and drove around today, i felt so... unprotected, haha, the brides definately keep you in one spot.
I tried alex's zeta 3L. It feels more comfortable, the right height. but seems a bit loose, and has a bit of wiggle room.
i think a zeta 3 should be fine for 5'10 180, but definately, definately try both the 3 and the 3L before you buy.
Sorry this doesn't apply to you chumley since your out in Ohio :( . For socal peeps I remember going to super autobacs in garden grove because I used to work out in costa mesa for a few months and I decided to stop by and see whats up. They had quite a few seats out on display bride, recaro, sparco, even tenzo-r (lol peice of shit). I sat in alot of different seats just to see whats out there for me. I'm 6'0 225lbs (fat ass) and I didn't keep track of anything that felt comfartable for me but there was a few that I liked. Just fyi

Super Autobacs is good for stuff like that. I know people often talk down on it, calling it overpriced, but the ability to go and try out seats and actually see all the products is really great.
I'm personally looking for seats myself, and I'm yet another 5'10 180lb guy. So it's nice to know that Bride actually makes models that I'll fit in.

I think I'm fucked for seats. I'm small even by japanese standards. 5'3", 125 lbs. LOL How big is Nomuken???
maybe I could get one of those Recaro baby seats and use it as a driver seat....

Bliss, check out the buddy club bucket. I heard they're TINY. There was a post on that a while back. Also bride have type s versions of their buckets. try it out to see if its small enough.
I've never been in Japan. But all these non americanized asians look like they average around 5'5, 130. except Yao, i think Yao drank some imported USDA milk. Its gotta be the milk. anyway. you also forget the chicks, hoooot, but tiny. Theres gotta be enough chick drivers in Japan to warrent that kind of market. Even here. Janet's no more than 5'3... i forgot what seat she had.

k guys seats are in :faint: :faint: WOW they are nice. i got the brix II's in black alcantara which is the coolest material, its like suede had sex with butter and this is the offspring. let me repost that im 6ft about 200 lbs and a 36 in waist. I sat in those seats and i fit like a dream. dont listen to people when they say you wont 90% probabbly havent sat in them themselves. i have a very wide frame in comparison to most and im moderately built but there was plenty of space for someone a little wider. the only place where theres room to move is the leg bolsters since they come straight up. let me remind you that these are japanese seats, and werent designed for american genitals. its a bit of a tight squeeze getting used to it but i think if i tuck myself right when i sit down imma love these. the other cool thing is the lumbar foam center piece is removable, so behind it im gonna probabbly mount one of those vibrating seat pads and a little more lumbar support underneath. a+

Brix II in alcantra from ebay? Are they fake? Everyone was having a discussion regarding this. Can you take pictures of your seats in detail?
Bliss, I tried out the newer Buddy clubs (black and grey in color) that have been floating around, and they are a little bigger than the older model (came in all black). See if you can source the all black japanese model buddy club seat. I fit in it really snug and I'm 5'5" 155lbs.
Also for anyone looking for non-reclineables, try out the Sparce Pro 2000s. My rally friends all have good experience with them.

i can take a few pictures when i get a chance if you guys want. these seats seem to me to be bride quality. they appear to be top notch beautifully made sturdy seats and im pretty convinced they are real brides. when it comes to knock offs theres usually a very aparent cheapness to them you pick up on right away, i mean that black alcantara stuff they are made of is expensive! i was thinking about doing my door panels and glovebox with it to match until i realized its about 86$ a yard! if you touch the seat its like nothing youve ever touched before its some seriously quality material. if it were a knock off they would have it made outta spraypainted brown paper bads wrapped around an old teddy bear witha bracket or something. and it wouldnt say bride, most of the time it would say something like "Bried" lol

Nah, my friend had the japanese Buddy Club seat. At autobacs, they have the Recaro SPG/SRD, JIC Cross, Bride Brix/Pros, and a bunch of cheaper seats.
