Well I have been delving into the world of diesel engines lately. seems like nissan has more than what I knew. Problem is getting info about tuning and stuff is kinda hard.
Any of you guys work or play with diesel engines?
the LD28 is a basic straight swap into a 280zx and it can be turbo'd with the 280zx turbo manifold and some port matching. Id love to do this swap to my 280, but I have no clue on maintaining a diesel engine or even repairing one. I know they pay guys big bucks to do it, but they also pay big bucks to the petrol guys too.
I find a lot on the diesel truck engines but I think those are a whole different beast. Id like to squeeze some extra HP out of the engine before I put on a turbo, and then look into FI.

anyways, with most, if not ALL of the major car manufacturors going diesel; I think it is about time to cosider this. Especially since they are becomeing more and more predominant in motorsports.

Check out the nissan diesel forum. They might have more info than zilvia does on the ld28.
But a high comp stroked out na l28 sound a lot more fun and you can tune to e85.

I've owned a 6.2l diesel for a couple months now and I've been into them for a few years. They're dirty as fuck most of the time. Tuning is rather simple for them. They don't use spark plugs, just injectors and an injector pump. I'm gonna be twin turboing it sometime this summer and for the added air you just turn the injector pump up.

Now newer ones that are all computer controlled I'm not too sure if they still have injector pumps. I'm going to guess and say no. It's probably just fuel pumps and injectors with FPR and tuning is similar to petrol.

The RD28 is a bit newer and it is pretty much a diesel RB, so supposedly the swap procedure is identical to swapping in an RB.
