I took this off honda-tech

"To answer your question, the car weighed in at VMP today at 1610 with driver. As far as the radiator, it's a fluidyne kart radiator.
We couldn't get all the parts done on time so we had to use a stock TypeS motor with TypeR cams, Clutchmaster twin disk, custom throttle bodies, and NuImage Autosports K Series header. The ECU definately wasn't a Motec. Thanks to Derek at Hondata for the K Pro. The car made 232whp on a dynojet Saturday morning at 4AM. Not bad for stock motor."

yea i saw that a while ago..
pretty impressive though.

I'm not impressed, just another swap. I would be more impressed, and interested if they got 200hp out of the hybrid engine.

are you kidding? 1610 lbs with 232 whp?? Yeah, just another swap. But an extremely fast one. Too bad the Insight wasn't built with any type of performance in mind at all.

in this time of crazy engine swaps, yea, i'm not impressed. I want to see some actual progress. 1610lbs is like a CRX or Civic Hatch (I dunno). I would rather see the hybrid engine tuned, since it's coming close to the age of hybrids.

my point exactly. you DON'T know. if you aren't intelligent about something, don't go spouting off like you are. it causes confusion and ignorance in people who are still learning.

i wish i had numbers for some Lotus cars (although I'm too lazy) because 232 hp on 1610 lbs is, i think, getting close to Lotus hp/lb numbers.

anthony240: u know nothing of drag racing. so do not speak as if u do.

i know wat u will say. "i dont care bout drag thats y i dont know"

just like how those peole who built the Insight will say "i dont care bout drifting thats y i dont know"

to u, that insight is just another drag car

but to them, u are just another person following wats trendy

it is not JUST another swap...mayb u didnt read correctly. it is a TYPE S engine. a K20A...not some B18C into an insight. if u dont know, which im sure u dont, cars need new motor mounts etc etc to mount the Type S engine into another car. just like how u need new mounts to swap a RB26DETT into a 240.

its not just another swap. the SR swap is more common than a K20 going into a civic/integra. and im sure u get excited over that "Just another swap SR"

dont worry. u dont have to admit it.

eh, not for long. the K series is helping the honda bandwagon regain some speed.

I agree as well but I'm not gonna ignore a 200+hp car that weighs a lil over 1600 pounds....That thing has gotta move.

Don't get me wrong a insight weighting 1600lbs w/ 200 whp would still would be WTF? material at a stop light.... But since everyone is starting to push these engines to be put in more and more cars... I'm interested in seeing what they can do

Ok, from my posts you think I was spouting something intelligent? I just said I wasn't impressed, THAT'S IT!

And Silvia Driver, when did I "speak as if I know something about drag racing"? I DIDN'T! I just said it's just another swap. I didn't say it's just another drag swap. I didn't say it's just another Honda swap. It's just another swap. Just like an SR, just another swap...except for that SR in the RX-7, now THAT'S an impressive swap.

And just because i'm into drifting, it doesn't mean i will hate on any other motosport. I give MAD props to drag racers. Some people are into high horsepower, some are into handling on rails, some are into showing their cars as works of art. If I in any way insinuate that I was HATING on this car because I just simply wasn't impressed, then I apologize. Happy now? :rl:

I want a Hybrid Civic. Not to make it into something its not though. The idea of going cross country with 1-2 tanks is badass. I just hate all these other Hybrids that look like hell. Give me something that looks like a normal car but is a hybrid and ill buy that shit for my daily driver in a heartbeat.

We were at the honda dealership picking up my friends s2k and the finance manage told us he broke it down on a white board with his co-workers with the gas mileage between the regular civic and the hybrid and how much more the hybrid costs then the civic, buying the civic it would take about 15 years worth of gas to make up for the difference the two cars would make as far as gas mileage.

so ur saying 15 years to make up for the cost difference between them, LOL, im sure hondas not putting that in their commercials.

Shit id buy a Hybrid. these damn gas prices are outrageous...But on subject. The Insight drag car is gonna be cool...Im not one for drag racing but i know my share of stuff, the midwest is all about dragging....how much tuning could you really do to a hybrid engine?
