i searched already, would this be a waste? or would you just save up for a fmic?

you would loose alot of pressure doing that I would think ...I have seen that setup on a few cars here and there ....2 SMIC mounted in the front and plumbed in together........

what i was thinking was the other smic being on the right side along with the stock left side smic.

That would definatly be good for avoiding unwanted attention.

Any chance of benefits from fabbing one on both sides of the car?
One SMIC just after turbo and one SMIC just before throttle?

I saw this done in an option magazine. I want to say it was Kazama who did it. If so, I'm pretty sure hes not using that setup any longer because I didn't notice it at D1. It seems like an ok idea if you have serious cooling problems, but if you want brake vents/oil cooler/ps cooler, you'd have to find another place for them.

or jsut re rout them to the front of the car where the FMIC would be

i wouldn't want them rerouted to the front cuz i want to "hide" them. also, wouldn't this kind of be a good idea because there would be more piping going to the other side and more piping equals more traveling air volume?

paint your FMIC black like a Radiator and nobody will notice ...well 75% of the people will not notice ... dual SMIC is a bad idea ....just get a larger core for one of them .....there is alot of aftermarket SMIC upgrades available ....even a mk4 supra one is a universal upgrade user for alot of tuner cars

not a good idea imo. you want the least ammount of piping possible. hence the invention on V mount setups. the less piping you have, the better response you have. you want the fastest path from the compressor outlet to the throttle body. running two smic's will also undoubtedly cause extra pressure loss. if you wann a hide it and have better response, do a v mount. it'd take about the same ammount of fabrication.

true ...alot of pressure loss from piping and another intercooler to flow through ...v mounts are the way to go but totally custom jobs

I used some radiator paint in thin coats to make my fmic super stealth. There would be a considerable amount of pressure loss going through two seperate ic's.

v mount? must i search this?

V-mount=vertical mount I'm assuming, mounted across the top front area of the engine...like the signal twins' cars
Would painting an intercooler be a good idea? Paint adds layers to the intercooler and that might affect the cooling ability of it.

jdmricev2 has v mount
chris forsburg has v mount (350Z sponsored by Motorex)
koguchis green car has v mount
signal cars have v mount
i think a couple team orange cars have v mount
look for pics of one of those cars and you'll see how it is. You need an aftermarket hood with a v mount. Or cut holes in your stock one.
