To those with gtr seats in a s14:
Do they sit lower or go slightly further back then the stock s14 seat? I noticed a adjustment knob on the side of the seat?
Im looking for a tad more legroom and headroom. I know the s14 seat is almost touching the back but there is still about an inch there that I could use. I have long legs and its very uncomfortable on longer trips.. Headroom is not that great either but that is my fault for getting a LE with a sunroof.
How are the gtr seats for a taller driver? Im about a 36" waist as well if that makes a difference

GTR seats are pretty awesome. I had two sets in my old cars. I'm 6ft and a size 30 waist. They fit me pretty snugly. They also sit a little bit higher than the oem s14 seat.

They sit higher for sure.
You can modify the bracket to make them sit lower, though.

So in my experience, there are two things going on with the GTR seat
1) Yes, it places your head higher, however
2) It places your legs slightly lower
It's simply the way it's designed. I am personally 6'4" and 195lbs with a 34 waiste. Fits well, but it was hell with a stock steering setup
I ended up with a 2" steering extension from Ebay (in conjunction with my Momo steering and hub) and it made a MASSIVE difference for the better!! As opposed having the steering wheel rest on my thighs in the highest position, completely not allowing me to heel and toe, steering the vehicle comfortable, and just plain sucked for my body style, that extension cured every single one of these issues!
@e1_griego, example of pics on how you modified your bracket to sit lower??

I don't want to unbolt the seat to show you, but we cut the rear brackets and moved them higher by about 1.5". I'll see if I can get a pic. Basically just moved the 'eye' up on the trans tunnel bracket and then then modded the outside leg to be 1.5" shorter as well.
I run a momo hub, NRG regular QR and a dished sparco steering wheel so I can fit nicely.

Good information. How much higher do you think it placed you? If I could get the seat down abit lower this may be a good option for me as its a real thron in my side.
Im 6'4 as well and my head is already pretty close to the roof. I know you feel my pain with the legroom as well, I will look into the extended wheel. I kinda wanted to do that anyways with a nice nardi deep corn with a short hub

I am interested in a picture as well. I think I follow you though, you basically notched the rear mounts upwards so the back of the seat sits lower. how much more room did this give you

Didn't notch, it's a cut and weld.
For the outside leg it's easy, the inside one takes more time.
Two sec, lemme go see if I can get a pic in the dark.

When you shorten the outside bracket you have to notch the C-channel part of the seat bracket to get it to slide back all the way since it will hit the bolt head. This will be obvious when you attempt it.
I'm 6'2" and I now fit without any difficulty with a helmet. Almost the same seating position as my sparco evo 2 plus that I have in my coupe which is on a fixed bracket pretty much as low as it can go.

Is that in a s13 or s14? I see what you are saying about the bolt as well.

s13.
But s13/s14 are the same for seat mounting (as I'm sure you already know).

I do, but I know also that the s14 seat sits higher in the s13 so I assume the gtr sits pretty close to the s14 hieght. I will need to get my hands on a seat if I can to see if it will work

I had s14 seats before and I'm pretty sure these sit higher, before modding.

And after modding they are lower? Lower then your s13 stock seats?

I haven't had stock s13 seats for like 8 years, so I can't really say. Lower than s14 seats, though.
I usually struggle for helmet room in an s-chassis and I don't any more.

Having that extended wheel probably helps for comfort too.
