I see a tear in a what may be a spot welded area on the right side of one of those pics. my first thought when seeing a dent on the bottom of the trunk is how is that possible? if it weren't for that the price seems alright. Problem is I would not trust damage like that to be easily fixed or that it was the only damage, there is probably something else somewhere on that car that needs serious body work.

so the guy lower it to 5k but check engine light is on due to oxygen sensors so will that effect the way it drives in any way? 1998 Nissan 240sx S14 Original Kouki (http://kpr.craigslist.org/cto/4288078694.html) thanks in advance n BUMP

wow that thing is sweet, I'd say go for it. Doesn't need much. Plus its a rare color, factory five speed and abs/vlsd. It won't pass emissions with the check engine light on. Looks like it's due to the headers that are installed, but I think you can just throw in the O2 sensors since he says the bungs and plugs are still there. Give it a shot and check it out in person.

Just looks like the trunk is out of alignment. Either the top is tweaked or the bottom is pushed in. Doesnt look like it would be hard to realign with patience and hammers.

Offer him $4000-4500 and just add up what it would cost to paint the bumpers, re-align the trunk, re-seal the trunk rip, replace leaking powersteering, sensors to clear the check engine light (assuming thats all it is) and to make it pass inspection (assuming WA has safety/smog inspections).

Not worth it. You could find a 97 with 170,000 Miles all stock for $4500 with no accidents if you just keep your eyes open long enough. Not many left... but there are still some.

Once these cars are hit... they never go back right, unless you pay more than the car is worth for a real pro to do it.
#1 most important part of a 240sx is the chassis, the foundation for all future modifications is what counts.
