I bought a 95 240sx about a week ago. The clutch seemed fine I drove it from Arizona to las vegas with no problems. I haven't driven since then because it had an oil leak that I was going to fix today. The car is able turned on without me pressing on the clutch but when I push the clutch pedal I don't feel anything. Since I bought it I was able to turn it on without the clutch pedal. It has a stage 3 clutch the previous owner told me but I don't know what kind. Also I check the master cylinder and it didn't have any brake fluid. I see a lot of people replace their slave cylinders would this have anything to do with that. I don't really know much about what to check. If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. . I just checked the slave cylinder and some brake fluid leaked out by the end where the rubber is. Is this normal or could it be the problem and how would I fix it. Thank you for any helphttp://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y483/gmfb702/155_zps1911685e.jpg

Well, can you put it in gear? Like, does the car drive how a standard should?
You push the clutch, put it in gear and it doesn't grind, and you let the clutch out, and it grabs, yes?
Either way, you should obviously have fluid in the reservoir and need to fix that. But that may be fluid on the slave from messy bleeding, loose bleeder, leaky seal, or it may just be motor oil, it's a grimy spot in general. The extent of what you need to fix depends if the fluid level goes down when you top it off, and if you can drive it normally, or if it acts like it has some sort of problem.

I can't put it in gear at all. When I press the clutch it stays down I have to lift it back. There is absolutely no pressure in the pedal. I'm thinking its the master since there is no pressure on the pedal does this sound right?

It's wherever the leak is.
If the master cylinder (and possibly the footwell carpet) isn't wet, (there also might be peeling or staining on the firewall paint) then it's probably not where all the fluid went.
Get a bottle of dot4 brake fluid, and a 1man bleeder bottle, and get under there and look at the slave. See if the bleeder screw is present, and tight, and if it could be the culprit, or it could be a re-used crush washer if the expansion block was removed or the cylinder was replaced. Fill the reservoir and bleed it off properly, and you can at least drive the car if you keep it filled, if nothing has catastrophically failed since you bought it.
Looks like a leaky slave worked fine when you bought it because the previous owner knew, and kept it topped off (or had just filled it, and not observed long or well enough), but then it ran out.

Yeah after bleeding it the clutch worked again. the slave seemed to be the only thing leaking at the rubber part that connects to the tranny. So would a new slave fix that problem or is it the connection thing?

Not the quickest, are ya? If the slave is leaking, replace it. They're cheap. Re-bleed that shit, and go about your business.

Lmao I was just asking to make sure there isn't something else I should replace. I don't have any experience with clutches. Thanks for the help though brah
