Any help is greatly appreciated. So im driving home from work and all of a sudden some kid hits my car forgetting to yield in to my lane. He was proven to be 100% fault. As some of you may or may not know i have a s13 coupe with silvia front end. Thats where i got hit, on the front driver side. So my wheel well and core are smashed and fender and all lights on the driver side and done. Also wheels lip is damaged. So pretty much i got the BB value for my car as a settlement and my car back. The 2100 alone wont be enough to fix my car i believe. I have no paper work on most of my cars just some but like most of us i bought parts via other members.Pretty Much im trying to get more money out of this by proving my car and the parts i have in it are worth increasing the price if it if i were to resell it to a licensed dealership.Socal ppl are preferred but all advice is great.
Pic of the car such a sad day for me

Any insight with modded cars being hit or any info or advice will help. This is not just for me but for all modified car owners out there not getting what they deserve for the time and effort put in to their cars.
If its in the wrong section sorry mods.

Well who paid you? His insurance or yours?
See, all the mods in your car supposed to be submitted to your insurance.. (So they will charge you extra every month) And cover your car parts and mods in case of an accident like right now.
Try to speak to his insurance company and explain to them. GL

You're not gonna get more money out of it...not with any regular insurance company. There is no point of having full coverage on these cars since you'll just get screwed over one way or another. Just expect your car to be total'd for anything and everything.
My advice to most 240sx owners at this point, get Hagerty insurance. They basically will cover your car for what you think your car is worth and pay accordingly to what your coverage is. Kicker is it can't be your main car, you have to have a 2nd car and put in less than 10K miles a year IIRC.

Also, if you already settled and you cashed the check, its a done deal. You could have fought it with their insurance and they might have given you more to settle the situation.

you could talk to the kids insurance company or yours? and if you have any receipts, bill of sales or anything to show value of the parts that may help. also while negotiating the price, you can "threaten" that you would want to speak to your lawyer before continuing. this worked for me because the insurance companies don't want to bother with lawyers
I got rear ended by a van which was rear ended by a SUV. totaled my car. I originally paid 700 for it, but they wanted to give me back like 400 bucks. I showed them proof of receipts (brakes, suspension, etc) and it only added a little more. I then threaten that I would like to speak to my lawyer before continuing because the value of my car is way more then you are offering. I ended up getting 1400 out of.

If you took the settlement they offered you, you're pretty much shit out of luck.

ya took the settlement but they said if i can prove the cars woth more then they can give me more but ya. I was tired of all the bullshit they gave me and took the money and kept the car.

Wait... you cant fix that with $2100....?
What parts are unable to be replaced/repaired?
Most expensive part would be paint but that doesnt run very high and doesnt seem like high end paint there.
Not bashing, just trying to figure out what cant be replaced with the $2100...

Wheel well is smashed and core support is bent. I've looked in to tube front and tubs and that alone is about 2000 and then fender and wheel need to be fixed and hood and the car didn't turn on.

^the 2100 will fix the car, not turn it into a tubbed out race car lol.
fender 100
bumper 200 with lights?
headlight 100
hood 300?
2 hrs on frame machine 200
straighten wheel 100
solder fender harness back together $free
$1000 I could fix that car easy. Then 1100 left for paint.

You always get a lawyer that takes cases on consignment. I did it with my last hatch. It was salvaged when I first got it and two different times someone crashed into me. The first accident I received $2300 for my car alone and second I received $2900. That's with a salvage title both times. I got more for the second accident because I saved all my receipts from building my motor. I did have to argue with the other persons insurance after they only offered my lawyer $1100. Lawyers come in handy when owning these cars.

for $2100 you can fix it yourself but there's no way you could pay a professional to do it all for that. I would have a pro fix the rad support and fender well if necessary and pay someone a few hundred to repair and do bodywork on the bumper. But get a fender and hood, and put it on yourself, sand it then take it to paint. The rest of the car doesn't look like it had a terribly expensive paint job to begin with so the repairs probably won't stand out after being painted. I think you're shit out of luck getting any more $ now though.

I got $3100 and my car didnt get totaled. The way they saw it, it was the other person's fault so they hooked me up, gave me the check and they billed Geico for it.

When you get into an accident and its not your fault. DO NOT DEAL DIRECTLY WITH THE OTHER PERSON's INSURANCE. They will low ball the crap out of you and give you the least amount of money possible. You have a better chance if you dealt with your own insurance since they're not the ones on hook to fix your car.
Your next goal is make your car's worth as high as possible. The higher the car is worth, the more money you'd get back when they total/right it off. Reciepts is great but what you really need is to show the MARKET VALUE of the car. Basically, you have to show what it would cost YOU to buy another similar car. Look into any and every FS ad you can find within 100 miles. If you're in an area there isnt a whole lot of S-chassis', look thru the whole state. I printed out every S14 FS ad I found in VA and NC just to make a point. Some cars were as low at $5500 and as high as $12k. I showed all that to my adjuster.
If your car hits 50% worth of damages compared to its value, its a total. That's the other reason you want your car value to be high in their eyes, so it wont be a total. Also, if you're not happy with the settlement they give you, DO NOT ACCEPT IT. They will come back to you and eventually force their hand to settle with you and make you happy.
Lastly, if you get into an accident and your car is sitting in the impount lot...DO NOT LEAVE IT THERE. Somebody's gonna pay for the tab and more than likely, it wont be your insurance company. Get your car outta there ASAP even if its wrecked. If your insurance gives you $2100 but the car has been sitting in the lot with $2500 in storage/towing fees, guess who's assed out $2500?

Ya maybe the car is fixable with the money. My cars at a body shop and I'm not getting charged for it. I took the money thinking talking them in to giving me more money wasn't gonna happen because I had to records of any thing. Just the dmax stuff. Also I only have liability so I don't think my insurance will help but I have yet to talk to my insurance since the settlement.

Yea you cashed the check so its over, get a lawyer next time. I got into an accident with less damage than that and got 4500 and kept my clean title. You should always get market value not blue book value. They should research how much it cost to replace a car just like yours I doubt you can find an s13 conversion aero bumper with clean paint for 2100 bucks. Next time if they offer you less print craigslist ads and posting showing how much it cost to buy your car.

Ya they only were gonna look at it if it was a deal ship or licensed lot. They weren't looking at private sellers.
