When i installed my Bee*R i read through countless threads that were JUST TOO COMPLICATED. So i set out to make a DIY Bee*R that was short and sweet.

Here it is, and please tell me what you think.

How to install a Bee*R on an S13 SR20DET.

Things worth Mentioning.

soldering would be more effective. but good description!!

You are correct! BUT, its not easy to remove if the unit malfunctions. It could leave you stranded. My wire tie method allows it to be removed without cutting the wires but not pulled apart easily. This has already helped me since my unit had to be sent back.

The unit actually comes with insulated bullet connectors. But i felt the size was a tad big for my liking.

Negative effects of having one of these installed?

this is all true except your missing the point. Yes its fun and can be adjusted to play around and "pop pop" all day. Buts its a MUCH safer alternative to the factory fuel cut rev limiter.

Valvetrain damage can also be a possible issue, but only at high rpms, and NOT because of the Bee-R. It has nothing to do with the Bee-R but everyone knows, if you're going to be banging on the rev limiter at high rpms without rocker arm stoppers, your asking for trouble.

Where did i purchase my Bee*R?

I purchased the unit from Nengun. My experience so far is TERRIBLE. The launch control on my my Bee*R started working intermittently, and nengun is actually fighting my warranty claim after i sent it back to Japan. Before i shipped it in, i offered to give them a video of the unit malfunctioning and they said it was not nessesary. Heres the last email they sent me.

This is the last e mail we are sending you. 1 Was the unit installed by a licensed tuner? I would say most probably not. How can we make a correct judgement by merely watching a video when it now has been deemed whoever installed the unit is incompetent. Sorry that was from the maker, the people who invented the unit. Yes the unit is under warranty to have it repaired if it was damaged, Warranty does not include the freight.

So you have 1 choice and 1 choice only. Pay for the freight back to you or we sell for whatever we can to recuperate any loss of domestic freight we have already paid.

Refund Totally will not happen.

our paypal account is 3,600 yen at paypal@nengun.com

We would also like you to sign a declaration that you will not make a claim on the 3,600 yen once the part has been sent back to you. This declaration will be passed onto our Paypal manager before the part is sent back to you

It's pretty easy man. I can pm or email u pics. I just got putting one on my single cammer. That was kinda a bitch. But dohc is pretty easy to find.

Actually I just watched the video and it's the same pins for ka just different colored wires coming out. And I wired my (+) and (-) to the harness unlike the ops setup

You don't even know how many different things I've tried to get this thing working. Finally got it to limit at what I wanted but wouldn't bang/pop flames and gain wouldn't adjust anything. So looking at your picture did you completely cut the ecu wire and run the beeR directly to it and tape off the actual wires that go to the CAS or whatever because I always tried to splice them in so it's receiving a signal from the actual CAS and the beeR at the same time. Is that what I was doing wrong?

Thats probably your problem. Just cut the CAS wires like i did in the video and wire the Bee*R to the ECU side of your cuts. The engine side of your cuts, just leave those cut and unattached. Tape them off for good measure if you want.

ok I wired it exactly like you said it works great lots of fun. but it seems that in neutral it does not go higher than 5500. can set to lower but not higher. seems that I cannot go past 5500 in 1st gear either. if I set it to 7 on the knob(6000rpm) 1st only hits 5500 and second and so on hits 6k. Is your guys like that??
and whats the best gain setting you guys youse?? the instructions say E is best for the fast loud backfire. my friend said F is the best iv been using F.

i acctually sent mine back for warranty repair. I had a similar problem except i couldnt not get the limiter to operate below 5500. Installed it on my friends car just to make sure.

I kept messing with it, it does it sometimes.
Thomas what gain were you at when you made the video??
I feel that 1 is the fastest but does not backfire as much, F is slower but backfires more.
And what motor setup are you running?? stock??

My engines stock apart from the boost controller and fan clutch. I could build quite a bit of boost which made it pop quite a bit more than my friends. But i run my gain at 7, happy medium.
