My KA-Turbo ; 5 spd swap finished.

took the car out for a test drive today. ran good. except the throw out bearing is making some noise when the pedal is engaged.

I'm using a greddy type-s BOV. someone said to remove the second sping. on my car with this second spring removed the valve will not close.

the turbo is a gt30r something like that.

with the manifold being the prototype i had to redo it 4 times.

did all the welding and grinding.
the finished version will be in stainless. and will not have the collector. it will be fitted together and welded up.

the 5 speed swap was done with basiclly all new parts;exept the trans and driveshaft.

hawd just email me and we can meet up. i still have 2 more s13. one is a daily driver and the other is going with a v8 chevy.

this is my fourth KA-t set up made the ground up. really satisfiying to finish it and drive it for the first time.

Have you pushed a 5 speed ka (turbo no) on the freeway on a cold night? Seems pretty damn quick to me, couldn't imagine finishing up a turbo project and trying the same thing, too fast. I will try to go to that pomona drifty thingy to check out your manifolds but if you could send me a pm so I can see it sooner I would appreciate a lot.

PS. We live so damn close....if you see a dark purple s14 rev on you that means I found you. hehe. :)

what i meant was that i felt more in tuned with the car with the 5spd then when it was auto. i wasn't driving that fast. :)
240stilo; did you work at a moblie gas station? i meet a gy there with a purple s14.

for fuel it is all stock right now. i have a top mount fuel rail with 550s and emange. i won't install those till end of summer when the new manifolds come out. i have an ebay stock replacement clutch right now; and it does not hold for shit! so i'll just break it in and get an ACT kit later.

Also, I have 2 friends that has an auto tranny that plans on doing the 5spd conversion. Can you tell me what's involve and is it very difficult? What is needed to be cut in the firewall and etc?

i think the spring is .7 and have a mbc. my gauages are not hooked up yet. so don't know where it is at right now.

right now i can't really tell about the spool cause my gauges are not done yet. also the clutch slips like crazy! slips through every gear and any rpm! i've been burning up this clutch for the pass 4 days.. i guess the act will be going in sooner then expected.

that manifold is a t25 top mounted for sr20det rwd. i sell these. the t3 version is almost done. i will have these for you guys to see and hold at the driftday 26-27 in fontana,ca. i will also have a KA greddy style intake manifold by winter. i will have the prototype at the driftday.


about the 5speed converstion. the hardest part was getting the auto trans out! it fell off the jack and moved the jackstand!
finding the manual driveshaft also took awhile. i used the auto harness and works fine.
when you get the trans make sure you get all the sensors! i bought a trans from a guy on here and didn't get any sensors. i used s13 sensors. the s13 speed sensor will not read right.
