Up for sale is my 1989 240sx coupe. The car is in good shape and is decently set up for someone looking for a fun grassroots drift car to learn in. I got the car as a shell a few months ago and built it up with some extra parts that I had laying around from my other 240 builds. The car runs well and and I have been using it to get around town while my other two cars are down for engine swaps. I had originally built this car to drive at 100 drifters but something came up and I was unable to make the event so I really have no use for this car right now.
Mod list:
Engine:
- Freshly gone over KA24E engine
- New timing chain and updated metal backed timing guides (very important for these motors)
- New oil pump
- New water pump
- Mishimoto low temp thermostat
- Electric fan conversion
- New distributor cap
- Fresh NGK plugs
- Newer Sumitomo plug wires
- Apexi drop in air filter
- 3 inch catback exhaust
Drivetrain:
- New Autocom stage 3 clutch
- New F1 9 pound flywheel
- Isis short throw shifter
- Welded diff
Interior:
- Bride Vios III seat
- Buddy Club seat rail
- Griproyal Woody steering wheel
- Purple dildo shift knob (not really my style but it was free haha)
- Replica Defi water temp gauge
- Replica Defi oil pressure gauge
Exterior:
- Fresh Lavender Frost (Nissan LG1) single stage paint
- Square G6 wheels
- New tires
- Chuki bumper conversion (I prefer pignose myself but the chuki bumper came with the shell)
- Depo clear signal lights
- Origin rep smoked tailights (not my style either but came with car, will also come with stock lights)
Suspension, Steering & Braking:
- Tien Super Drift coilovers
- Powered by Max rack spacers (more steering angle)
- Generic subframe collars
- New Front & Rear Power Slot brake rotors
- New premium ceramic brake pads
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
- Solid chassis with minimal rust
- Fresh paint
- New brakes
- Fresh wheel alignment
- New inspection sticker
Cons:
- Windshield and sunroof glass are cracked from hood flying up on previous owner (hood was replaced but the roof still has some dents)
- Steering rack is on its way out
- Taillight fuse likes to blow out every now and then
- Sunroof leaks a little
- Small dents and dings all around car as expected for a car that is 20+ years old
- Front body panel fitment is a little off since I just quickly threw the front end on for paint, easily fixable but it doesn't really bother me since its just my beater car
- Car is very low and may take some getting used to if you haven't driven low cars before
That's about everything, I have tried to be as honest as possible so there are no surprises. The car has its flaws but its pretty well set up for someone who is looking for a fun, halfway decent looking 240 to slide around in. I'm asking $3500 firm for the car but would really rather trade. I have been dying to get back into a AE86 or another s14 (can be auto if its clean) but I may consider a nice FC3S or swapped s13 that needs some work as well. I can also add some cash on top if the right deal comes along and I may also be willing to trade for a complete LS1/T56 setup.
