It's a 1990 with a ka24de swapped in. I didn't start the project but im finishing it. On the lower engine harness that has all the wires for the starter and alternator there is a thicker white wire coming out from there with an eyelet on it. I cant tell where it goes. It seems to be getting 12v right from the battery. I think its one of the smaller wires that comes right from the positive battery post because when I disconnect everything, it has continuity.
Hopefully I can get some pics up soon. Any ideas? Everything else on that harness has a place to go and the car starts and runs, just don't know where this wires goes.

Google pics of lower harnesses... I'm sure there is a diagram that shows what each wire is for.

I have to take another look at it this weekend. I think there was a cable added in from the starter to the battery, and that the original battery cable is hooked to the alternator. And that my extra wire should actually be going to the alternator.
This may actually explain why nothing electronic in the car works beside the headlights and the engine runs. Because the cable that runs to the alt should run through the fuse box and power other things.

Oh- check the little red connector at the positive battery terminal- pretty sure that's the power for all the accessory stuff.

Yes it turned out that someone added in their own starter cable from the battery to the starter. And the original starter cable was ran to the alternator. So the mysterious cable was the alternator cable! All the electronics work in the car now.
I just need to figure out why the alt isn't charging lol. Going to check all the grounds before I replace it.
