You need a slide hammer to get it out. You can borrow one from Pepboys or most other auto stores.

ok heres the problem. I actually cracked the pilot bearing while trying to get it in. The pilot bearing looked like it was a tiny bit too big. i thought the place i bought the clutch from sent me the wrong bearing. Then i went to auto zone and i believe the 89 maxima would be the same as the s13 sr right? Well the thing was it was exactly the same size as the pilot bearing i got from exedy. Are automatic sr's different than manual sr's crankshaft???? I tried to sand the pilot bearing down to make it fit but so far it has been unsuccessful. Anyone have better ideas??!?!?

thanks

just get the right size, its as simple as that.

as for removing it, i took a flatblade chizel type tool and just destroyed it.. came out like pie. a couple hits and i literally tore the thing apart, very easy. just clean the hole and insert your new one (ha ha ha)...
