I've just got my set of factory seven spokes mounted on some tires, but before I can put them on, I have small problem. My S13 came with those cheap bubcaps from Pepboys (the ones with the fake 5-lug pattern) Anyone know how to take those things off? Even though I don't like them, I don't want to break them. Thanks in advance.
Just tugging on them should take them right off.

Yeah, that did it. I was kinda scared to try that at first, because I wasn't sure if they were bolted to anything. Thanks a lot, Levi. :)

Sorry if that was a stupid question to you, but before this car, I have never even touched a hubcap before. I think its better to ask a stupid question and find out than to experiment and screw up.

yeah, but they were pretty difficult to pull off the first time I tried it. That, and the little wire ring that I noticed caused me to think that they were connected to something.

my friend's 87 honda accord's hub caps were bolted on. You needed to remove the lug nuts before removing them.

one magical word describes this thread and its maker :newbie:
I'm not a newbie, I've been visiting this forum on an almost daily basis since July. I'm just not a post whore that takes pride in the number of posts in their user profile, and I don't really see the point making a post on this forum unless I have a question, want to post pics, buy something. I don't have as much extra time on my hands to make dumb comments. I'll probably be a "newbie" forever.
Anyway, thanks for the "help." I'm sorry for asking the stupid question, but I don't see why it was worth anyone's time to respond to it if they only had something dumb to say. I'm done with this thread now, I'd rather be enjoying my car.

But dude/bro, you can't remove a funking hubcap! You should be banned on that alone. Hit a speed bump at 60mph and that'll solve that problem. :jerkit:

seriously dude... is this a joke?
it's more difficult to open a sprite bottle than remove a hubcap.

Hey Jumpman after you get your hubs off you should mix some sand with your oil. It smooths out your cams and improves horsepower!

He had a good question, as there are some hubcups which are secured by lugnuts and maybe he did not want to risk breaking the hubcaps off in lew of that.
There are way too many macho know it alls around here that were born knowing how to change a tire or make themselves feel more intelligent at the expense of another person's simple question with condescending tones. Some of you need to grow up, but then I have to take into account the average member age on this board, damn...;)

heres step by step:
get some rope. tie it up to all 4 hubcaps. bend over, stand on all 4 infront of the car, make sure its in front, otherwise wont work,
bite on the rope and pull with your teeth till you fucking bleed and that tampax falls out. when it does, the caps are loose enough, come over to each one and try to ply it off with your penis. its probably gonna hurt, but its supposed to be effective.
repeat the process for easy hubcap reinstall.

I just dont see the fun in making a mockery of somebody with a simple question. simple question= simple answer.

honda and acura hubcaps are held on by the lugs. so are, i think its, new hyundais. caddys and some other cars w/ wire-style hubcaps have a little key on the inside. other than that, pull hard.
