Hey everyone,
Not many people know me around here, but I thought I'd start a web series

Its gonna track my progress to becoming pro, watch and follow along!
Going from Zero to Sidewayz Hero, that's the idea anyways!

Thanks.

Alex.

Hope u don't take this the wrong way hit what is it about the pro series that makes u want to compete in it so bad other than competing with the best?

Do you have any sponsors that are helping u get to events and paying for tires and what not?

I'm an avid drifter to and love it but I just can't see how a privateers are able to make pro events and be competive.

it's about drifting with the best, and the people who are in it. As for how I'm getting to events and who's paying for it, a while it will be on my dollar. I own l-spec so I'm theoretically sponsoring myself.

Also it is not cheap I know this otherwise I wouldn't have waited so long to begin competing. I started in 2003 when most pros started so you could say I have a bit of experience. The thing I have lacked is money as you put it.

Won't happen overnight but that's the idea, I thought people would wanna see the things I have to go through. I missed out on a lot of footage in the past, as I'm sure most drifters have had some wtf stories.

I remember when I wanted to be a "pro driver", then i realized, WHY. So i can tell everyone im better than that guy?
Drifting to me is having fun with friends, you don't even have knuckles man, its hard to take this seriously and not troll.

The way I figure it is this, drift for what ever reasons you may...drifting in America has become so mainstream that if you do intend on competing on a "pro series" in a premiere circuit like FD, there is a path that has been created for you to get there.

Start in their feeder or pro am series, if you have what it takes your skills/program will advance here, giving you the oppourtunity to compete. I meet alot of drivers that respond with "I wanna go pro" but do not have any means of getting there.

Put a solid program together, execute it as best as you can...not all drivers were born with a bank account that has thousands of dollars, and it has been proven by local drivers that earned their pro license eating cup o noodles for 2 years straight.

Starting driving since 2003 is great, but lets face the facts about today's driver, cars and setup which has changed ALOT since that year.

Good luck man!

Gotcha, at least you know what you are getting into. Just seems like a lot of money and stress just to compete with the best.

Personally i just can't justify spending $30K+ for travel and event cost to run a series and only have the opportunity to win $5k at an event. It's not about the money but man you will be spending a lot of money to compete in a pro series. Also how does one have a regular full time job and a family / social life and trying to compete in FD.

But it's ur dream and i wish you the best of luck.

What are you goals for 2014?

Well... everyone has a dream or we can call it bucket list, which is something you want to achieve
before you die.
To make a dream become reality is only one thing; "DO IT" and dont stop!
I wish you the best luck!

I'm a believer that anyone can be anything they want if they are determined to go all the way, and stay focused even in the worst of time.

I look forward to seeing the progress in the months-years to come.

Pretty awesome man! I have the same plan as you actually, basically document the entire road to Pro. Best of luck to you! Are you putting together the video yourself and learning as you go or do you have someone else doing it for you?

I would like some input on the next video,
I am approaching a company for a sponsorship/supplier deal.
would you guys find it interesting on the whole meeting?
I could get a small camera and film the conversation, as well as a run down of what i plan to do.
otherwise I can skip the whole thing and just make the next video Tube Chassis

I am in favor of seeing the entire process. I'm not crazy about lengthy videos, "aint nobody got time for that". But on a serious note, edit the videos to the point where you capture every bit of thought and process you go through, but without making us "viewers" wanting to skip through it. GL Alex!

This.
Have all the footage in the world, but use only the most interesting/important parts. Gotta keep the viewers/potential sponsors entertained!
