return it, Autometer A/F gauges are widely known to be totally worthless.
I was stupid and disregarded this info only to learn for myself the hard way. Autometer A/F gauges are only good for:
- target practice
- fun with the shop press
- distance measurement (see how far u can throw it)
- kindling
You're better off getting an EGT and Fuel pressure gauge, only wideband 02 sensors are worth getting as far as A/F gauges are concerned.

First off, I wouldn't get one because they are ricey, and don't really give you valubale information. Get a wide band, that's where it's at. Anyway, an A/F ratio guage is only going to show anything that looks normal at WOT. Reason being, your computer is constantly adjusting A/F ratio at partial throttle. That means the computer might see a little rich so it will compensate, and add fuel, then it will show rich, then it will compensate, etc; this means the gauge is going to bounce back and forth between rich and lean rapidly. It will show a constant reading, (should be more on the rich side of the gauge) at WOT, because this is when the computer uses a preset map.

Might be usefull to tell you that your car is going into closed loop mode, or tell you if you are suddenly lean for some reason, but anytime you get on the gas it is going to go full rich no matter what.
