FUUARK

Zilvia members,

It's about time I finally begin my own build thread after months and months of secretly browsing some amazing threads on here and the continuous amount of fapping from the Kouki thread is beginning to get sore.

Before I begin, I wish to thank everyone for getting me motivated once again into my car, I am fairly sure many can agree that we all go through many up's and down's building a big project like my car.

Where did it all begin?
Most likely from birth, building, modifying and owning a sick whip has been in my blood for many generations. From a young age, my father introduced me to big horsepower, muscle cars and nostalgia and my love grew for Australian Muscle Cars.

At the age of 14, it was just my Dad and I living under the roof sharing the same passion and we decided to get a hobby together and build a small project. It was a great opportunity for him to get back into his era of car building days and also for me to learn long-life skills that has helped me right up until today.

It was a 5 year project, but the pictures following highlighted the finished product. 1973 Holden HQ. We done everything from complete body of chassis, body work on a rotisserie, rust repairs, engine conversion, painting, interior trimming, electrical, welding and painting.

After the 5 long years, I drove it on the road for about 3.5 months and something just did not feel right. It was missing something.

2 weeks into feeling like something was missing, I made friends with now great friend PhilipV. He owned this amazing Baby Blue Nissan I had no idea of what it was. It said 200sx on the boot, so I assumed that's what it was. It was pure SEX. Those wheels I have never seen before, or even the style, the entire car, the way it was stanced just blew me away.

I knew right then and there, that is what I needed.

2 or 3 nights after I fell in love with his car, I influenced my Dad that I needed to sell the Holden due to saving deposit for a house. Within a week it sold instantly, (now I regret selling) and the day I had the cash in my hand I was already on CarSales, eBay and other sites looking for this Unicorn I had fallen in love with.

BANG!! Two had popped up immediately on eBay. I read, Nissan S14a 200SX. It had spaghetti manifold and a T28BB turbo. I was thinking, wow this car must be worked, I gotta own it. I called the guy immediately and before I knew it I was driving to go see it that exact night. I had little knowledge about these cars, Dad didn't know where I was off too. He had no clue. I got there to a dodgy fuel station where they said we would meet and I looked over the car in the dim lights. It looks great. I asked what is that on the turbo, it looks like wire mesh. They said yeh, that's the air filter. Dumb enough, I thought this was actually a real mod.

I bought it instantly. This was my white beast.

The initial problems?
Coming home to Dad was the hardest thing ever. The instant head-shake of disapproval I got from him.

In the first week, problems GALORE!!! Here we go, more excuses for my Dad to rub it into me what I mistake I had done.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/380474_10150441204377456_1567635049_n.jpg
Problem #1. Day 3. Turbo Lines leak coolant. I take this to a local mechanic, he suggests upgrading to Stainless Braided Lines. Ordered them for $220 and paid another $350 to fit. OUCH!!
Problem #2. Day 4. The day I picked car up from mechanic. Driving home slowly and casually, the box broke a selector fork 3rd-4th. I purchased a replacement reconditioned box for $990 and paid $1200 for that Larrikin to fit it. Bigger Ouch!!
Problem #3. Day 6. During it was getting fixed, the mechanic rings me and tells me that I have huge smoke pouring out of the car and he strongly insists he rebuilds the engine. GO GET F*CKED DODGY MECHANIC. He somehow blew my turbo during the 2 days it was there. Thank you very much, I would rather fix the turbo myself. I found it was the turbo and replaced that for an upgraded GT2871r.

The BEGINNING of FUUARK! I.e. The Modifications
It had to be done. You can't own a standard S14 and not modify it in any shape or form. Especially in my blood line.

The first mod. Work Termist SP1C. 18x8+33 and 18x9+33.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/389816_10150493799262456_996020595_n.jpghttps://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/386464_10150495709522456_725837603_n.jpghttps://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/374881_10150505975482456_1680044326_n.jpg

The second mod. The number plates. FUUARK

The speeding ticket and defective vehicle notice held up some modifications.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/402213_10150537215837456_249843234_n.jpg

At this stage, I have begun being heavily influenced by the whole Stance fad and wanted to input my style into this aswell.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/397230_10150603162002456_1014603563_n.jpg

After looking at 1,000,000 pictures of S14's, I had decided I need wider wheels. But I loooove my wheels so much. RE-BARREL TIME :) After thinking for many many months on end that my Work wheels was Work Meisters, I figured it would be piece of piss to re-barrel them. Take the nuts off, cut the glue, put new dishes and go from there. AHAHAHAHAHAHA. In my case, this wasn't the text-book style. I found some amazing size 6" dishes from Victoria's ProDrifter Ender Esenyel. They came over and I was so excited to get them done.

We came into a problem. MY wheels are 1 piece. The original Work Termist. GREAT. Out comes the angle grinder to cut the outer lips off.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/431321_10150657564567456_1243359704_n.jpg
This took longer than expected, so to allow for an accurate cut we put these on a lathe and machined the lips off gently.

I believe this was the biggest mod I have done to date that WAS really about to come a HUUGE snowball effect on my car's build. I photoshopped a image of how I want to modify the Termists and me and the painter went from there.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/429848_10150669449797456_696098698_n.jpg
They came out even better than expected.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/400983_10150689507377456_1827121603_n.jpg
The front was now the original rear. 18x9+33 but now with 30mm spacers.
The rears now 18x12+0.
Getting some body work done to properly fit the wheels. Done by Gazspeed with traditional hammer and dolly.

Now that I got the car back I was able to drive like this for a period of two weeks and enjoy happy life. Unfortunately, I popped a motor cruising at 255kw on full boost for over 2 minutes and shot the dipstick so hard into the bonnet it left a dint.

Time for a new motor, performance upgrades here we come.
I bought a Genuine TD06-L2-20g with genuine Greddy manifold, and Greddy 50mm Gate.

Also have to keep it all looking immaculate. Had this painted.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/581075_10150885118617456_2059172961_n.jpghttps://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/403503_10150893773027456_1069265245_n.jpg

I had the head machined, reconditioned and r/r. Got it back to my house and I immediately painted the engine.

Also ordered a Mazworx Plenum. This also is where the build took another huge step of where I wanted to go with how it would come out.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/577013_10150976774267456_1925765689_n.jpg

It all started as I needed to do a forced wire tuck due to the plenum hitting the fuse box.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/375786_10151012858532456_1236233730_n.jpg

After the wire tuck, I took it to MotorEx 2012 on a base map prior to tuning.

So a few days later, I got the tune. This happened!

Bottom end knock. I was soo angry, pulled it out... This time I'm going crazy on the build. Fully shaved bay, fully forged motor. I want 500hp.

So after the engine blew, I was determined I was going to build one of Australias cleanest street rides with a bit of a powerhouse at the same time.

I was crushed when the second engine blew on the dyno, it made [email protected], but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

The next few days, this happened.
Ordered Rex Kelway tubs.

With a huge power increase that is going to be powering the rear wheels, I needed to ensure that I was going to stop.

Dad always taught me, you can always go quick, but the quicker you go, the quicker you need to stop.

Upfront, I upgraded to D2 356mm 8pots.
At the rear, R33 2pot rear brake / drum set up
With all stainless steel braided HEL lines and upgraded HFM 1" Master Cylinder.

I got an awesome phone call that Anthony at Dahtone was about to start building my motor. I rushed over so I can watch the process. It was like giving birth.https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/942081_10151646251387456_1739397675_n.jpghttps://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/942081_10151646251387456_1739397675_n.jpg

Getting motivation levels high at this time, I ordered some Yashio Factory Gearboot and Gearknob to compliment my custom interior.

The whole rear end was rebuilt, with new solid diff bushings, Nolathane subframe bushings and a nice lick of paint.

The next step, was to paint the motor. Usually, many like to keep the look of the fresh alloy look straight after an engine clean, however to keep the car color scheme, we painted the engine our Suzuki Charcoal, along with the K-Frame, subframe, and some interior parts.
