Ive been doing alot of forum searching and checking on the car. A few days ago my car (sr20 s13, AEM v2) decided it would no longer start when I wanted it to. I checked all grounds and fuses and even replaced the infamous blue solenoid. All said and done i still cant get anything other than a click when I try to start but it push starts just fine. At this point im assuming starter.... Just looking for some confirmation. Any input would be appreciated.

Looks like you figured it out. Remove starter and go get it tested.

Obviously the starter. Why would you make this thread before trying what you already think it is

If it's not a clattering click, this might be the millionth pushbutton strait to the starter thread.

Because I am not a mechanic. Im doing the best I can with what I have. If there was something obvious that I might have overlooked that someone with more knowledge could point out before I buy a starter I would like to have their input. That is kind of the point of this type of web site isnt it? So if your having a bad day go bother someone else about it. Thanks

I tried that.... Even with a jump and/or a fresh charge it just gives me the click

If running wires strait to the starter does the same thing, WHY would you make this thread? that's the only thing it could possibly be, if you eliminated the entire rest of the system.

I didnt run wires straight to the starter... I quoted the wrong piece of text. What I meant was I only get a single click even after charging the battery.

Pull the starter off, hitch a ride to Auto Zone or Advanced, ask them to test the starter, (they do it for free) then go from there.

It's funny, I just warrantied out my junk starter today and wound up getting another junk starter. Looks to be I'll be heading back to Advanced today/tomorrow to get yet another starter.
