Lately, I just got a stage 2 kevlar/copper 6 puck clutch installed into my s13
sr20det engine-tranny. Now that ive got the new clutch, I thougth everything would be cool. Until I was driving down a highway, then I hear weird ass buzzing sound coming from the engine at 4th gear when my foot is off the gas pedal. :aw: It sounded like a rubbing friction sound.
But this sound goes away everytime my foot is on the gas pedal accelerating at 3krpm or higher. (The sound also goes away right when i push the clutch peddle down while still in 4rth gear). As I take my foot off the gas pedal when im still in 4rht gear, the buzzing sound comes back at around 2700rpm. When it passes down below 2000rpm, the buzzing sound goes away again. This wierd ass sound ONLY happens on 4th gear.
1rst, 2nd, 3rd & 5th = OK. 4rth = WTF!?
Im not sure if it is my clutch or my tranny. It might be something fromt he engine, because i hear it behind the dash through the AC/Heater opening. But as of now, im afraid to drive it, and hoping I dont need to go fix it again and burn a hole through my wallet. PLEASE HELP!! :-/
