Thats one of my biggest car fears. I can just see me driving along and a deer fly's out on to my hood and through my windshield and then have a big dead deer head right in front of my face. Uggghhh getting the willie's just thinking about it.

It'd be worse if the deer that head was connected to was still alive

the f#$ked thing about it was that my wife and i both knew it was gonna happen, we were driving from florida through kentucky on about a 12 to 14 hour drive to go to see her grandmother that was on her deathbed, when we hit the deer she called her dad and found out that her grandmother died right about when we hit the deer, this was just made things worse, we wanted to see her granmother before she dies and than this, and we are both animal people, all i can say is that the deer dies right away, he rolled along the fender and broke his neck when it snapped around and his head hit the windsheild, everything was in slow motion, ( if i had slower reaction time we would have hit the deer head on and totalled the car no doubt ) first thing i did was go back and check the deer to make sure he was dead and not in pain, that would have been even worse.
well sorry about the length still bothers me a bit

man, i can actually picture that big, heavy deer breaking it's neck after getting hit n lie there motionless. luckily, the only time i only hit a deer, i was able to brake n swerve out of the way. all i've hit so far is a turtle n i flipped it over on its back, then i saw the car behind me while it was laying on its shell.

sorry about this just heard a story form a friend that someone he knew was at a scene of an accident and the driver died, now the deer i hit his head hit the windshield and it was quite a sight but this guy was in a cargo van hit a deer, the deer came up and over the hood through the wondshield, hit and killed the driver, when the police got there and opened the back door the deer and the guy were on the back of the van in one bloody mess, the deer hit him, broke the seat off and put them both back there, and the deer was a buck
(male deer) so you can imagine what happened

yeah just wanted to say bye, i guess it was good that we were still there to go to the funeral and see her family, and no i did not have to pull the deer to the side of the road it was a four lane highway, i was in the left lane on our side and knocked the deer back from where he was coming from, also it was a saturn we were driving (wifes car) and it ripped the fender off the car, or so i thought, so i went back to pick up the fender and the biggest piece i found was about 8 inches by 4 inched the rest of it was just pieces, the fender shattered( those plastic ones you know)

did you apologize to that deer....i think you should..not physically but jus at least say it..or sumthing.....it's no coincidence when you hit that deer that your wife's grandma died...take it as a sign..as a omen...

it may sound dumb to some people but i did apologize to that deer, aftermaking sure it was not moving i went up to it and checked to see if he was breathing of his heart was still going, obviously they were not and then i apologized, i know it sounds dumb but i am quite an animal person so i thought it was the right thing to do.

me and my dad where driving in his old truck once, it was a total POS, we hit a deer going about 60, and it died instantly, so we loaded it up in the back of the truck, called the dept of agraculture, told em we hit it, and kept it, lol. we where going deer hunting right then, so it was okay

Try maine. A friend of mine hit a moose when he was driving with his family, and we came close to having a moose ram us when I was driving with him. A moose is nothing you wanna screw with, lemme tell you that.

Deer are so stupid, I hit one too. The thing is, I slowed down because there was a deer on the side of the rode. Was going 50mph, slowed done to 30. But right when I was about to pass it, it looked and tried to run across the street when it was already out of harm's way. This was at night, the light must have disturbed it. Anyway, there's no remorse for stupid animals like that.
