power steering pump

I am not sure what the problem is but I had a rebuilt ps rack put in just over 2 yrs ago and recently i started hearing a slight winning noise as I turn the steering wheel more than half way. I am thinking it might be the pump. Its been in since '03. If it was this how hard would it be to replace and how much would it be?

Check fluid first

fluid has dropped a little since the rack was put in 2 yrs ago but still plenty of fluid. How long do pumps usually last if ran with the correct fluid?
