i had mine painted after my radio got jacked. looked pretty easy. the insurance guy came out, sanded the dash (after fixing the cracks) and painted it with regular spray paint (the kind that come in OEM colors). it came out pretty good looking. from the sanding some of the texture is gone, but i guess if you did it over the whole thing, it wouldnt be noticeable.

the brown in my 92 is painted black. the kid who did it was impatient and it has runs in it. otherwise i get compliments on how shiny it is

it isnt that hard. just make sure to clean it well with some mild soap, and a slightly abrasive pad. let it dry then go ahead and paint it. make sure to use paint made for auto interiors

my whole interior is painted flat black aside from the gauge bezel (aluminum silver) and the cluster assembly thing (gloss black).
i used basica trim paint on the plastic bits and fabric paint from autozone.

NOOOOOOOOOOO..... don't paint your dash. Sell it! There are quite a few guys looking for a blue dash with no cracks, including myself. They are so hard to find, I'm on my second one. :( please don't destroy it

I'm painting the interior plastic pieces now. All I do is sand it lightly with some sandpaper then paint it with some OEM black colored spraypaint that I got at AutoZone.
I didn't lose any texture though...maybe the insurance guy used really rough sandpaper. I used 400 grit and it turned out smooth.

i painted my whole interior, it use to be that ugly zenki green. all i did was take out what was going to be painted, used dishwashing soap(MOST important), then wetsanded with 1500 grit, let dry. just go to any auot store and pick up some vinyl paint, dupli color makes it. spray light coats, do it on the hottest day!!!! 10 minuts between coats.
for me it has been almost a year, i painted everything, the dash the pillars, the doors, the rear panels. the only i complaint i have is that the rear panels scratch easy, i didnt clean them too well. the dash has ZERO scratches, same with pillars, door sills, and door panels. take your time and do it right and it will last.

I painted my interior..but I was in a rush and a week later the paint started to peel off the plastic panels. This was because I used the wrong paint for the plastic panels....as for the dash its been 2 years and the paint still holds. I used some vinyl spray paint I got from Pepboys. Since the rest of my interior was peeling...I just got panels and bits from junkyard cars...I recommend this since its easier and you don't have to worry about paint chipping off in the future.
Right now the only things that are painted is my dashboard, center console, and gauge bezel. I used wheel spray paint for the center console and gauge bezel.

note: Black interiors get dusty really quick.
