My friend Anthony's car. Tuned on e85 with AEM EMS. Daily driven.

Is this the highest whp sr20det out there?

Ever heard of mazworx? 800whp is not the fastest out there,:picardfp:. What kinda rpms, I'm hoping there is solid lifters in there.

I find this believable. But highly unreliable as a Daily Driver. 350+WHP SR20's will give you problems, 800whp will be Very Violent for the 1500RPM at the top where your powerband is, And will feel like a Toyota Yaris in limp mode from idle to 6,000rpm.

Still a cool build if your drag racing.

probably because its an 800whp 4 cylinder thats daily driven.. i highly doubt that unless he works where he sleeps... I also think that dyno reads high.. 812whp on 27psi... seems wishful but i must admit im not a SR20 expert.

take it to the track where it belongs and lets see some big trap speed

I don't get the hate. Car looks great, what would you want it to look like? Not only is it all super strait and one color, it looks like the paint's about a week old.

Of course it's not the most powerful.... and maybe it's a useless motor for most driving, but ehh, more power to him. Make your own 800hp with a motor never meant for anything like that, then hate.

I wouldnt say 600 hp more than most, ill tell you what tho, it must be a great highway car. Anything short of 1/2 mile drag race, he would probally lose to many cars with less hp.

I would like to hear what he is going to do to get traction.

I am fighting at 450rwhp daily driven on pump gas to get traction, even with 315/35/17 Nitto NT05s. Sure I could put race gas in mine and turn it up but it would not be usable on the street. Maybe next summer when it is warmer without a chance of rain I could mount drag radials, put in some VP and retune, but I still don't think it is usable on the street (and I have an SR setup that could do 600+ on race gas)

800 WHP on 27 PSI on a GT42 is not far fetched at all, that turbo is moving a ton of air.

This is obviously built as a highway queen/drag car. That thing has to be brutal when it hits full boost on the street.

That thing sounds like a jet. Id have to say its probably right there around 800hp, but Id have to also input that Dynos are Very Different. My Car Reads 327hp 312ftlbs on a Dynojet, then it reads 306hp 294ftlbs on a different Dynojet, and then 278hp 260ftlbs on a mustang dyno, Same Tune & Boost on all three dynos. I have no idea where my car really is, Dynos Give you a Ballpark figure In my Opinion. Theres no True Way to Know how much is really there......

There's a thing called "correction factor". I work with a Dyno and we use the standard equation which is, SAE j1349. Not adjusting Air density is what causes Dyno numbers not to be accurate. Being able to read the air density properly and set the proper correction is the only way to yield the true numbers. A lot of Dyno's don't know or care about setting the proper correction which results in numbers showing higher than what is reality! Yes we have had people ask us to adjust the correction so they can have a higher Dyno reading.

Lol, its more of the vette guys that get their feelings hurt. I put up my Dyno sheet at our booth and it seems to get everyone motivated, since everyone knows 4cyls can't make power :duh:

Lmao. There are many respectable 4cyl engines. This post is one of them. Takes a lot to get a 4banger to produce 400hp per liter. Haha

I suppose mine isn't a slouch, i need to dial in my boost by gear tho!

Seraphim38
12-29-2013, 04:31 PM
Adjustable boost by gear? My power fc won't do that and i wish it did. AEM EMS V2? I know that the EMS does have an option for an rpm window switch to control a nitrous hit for quicker spool, but that hasn't been enough for me to justify spending a couple grand to switch. Adjusting boost by gear would increase my interest, since I can't ever get traction in 1st or 2nd gear

I'm prolly going to find a sensor that will be able to identify which gear I'm in, then adjust the lbs that way. Or something along the lines of using the vs to keep the traction. I have both these options on my aem v.1. I'm kinda leaning more to boost by gear instead of vss for the fact that with the vss setup our cars speed increases when our tires break loose which in turn will throw more boost in with the speed increase even though tires are spinning.
