I went and dropped a dual filter kit in, excuse the fram filters, i did this install all before i had class monday morning. Running 300psi hose around 10 feet or so. didnt hav time to pick up the K&Ns here are the pics. BTW i do realize my ignition pack sits between the generic air filter, and the oil filters. Gotta luv the pretty colored zip ties http://img24.photobucket.com/albums/v72/streetphase/Aarons%20stuff/engine_bay.jpg http://img24.photobucket.com/albums/v72/streetphase/Aarons%20stuff/engine_bay2.jpg http://img24.photobucket.com/albums/v72/streetphase/Aarons%20stuff/oil_spin_on.jpg http://img24.photobucket.com/albums/v72/streetphase/Aarons%20stuff/oil_relocation.jpg http://img24.photobucket.com/albums/v72/streetphase/Aarons%20stuff/engine_bay3.jpg

Very cool looking. may I ask what benefits there are to this kind of a setup?
Lower oil pressure? Reduced frequency of filter changes (but total, would still be the same I imagine)? Improved filtering? ... I'd suggest relocating the battery, then having both the intake and filters sit where the battery currently sits. That would be bad arse.

yah i noticed that too looking at it tonite, imma pick up a battery relocation kit. imma re-route radiator overflow in a generic catch can and put that on the side of the air filter. remove the windshield washer fluid outta the way. and place the dual kit in the open space provided by everything being vacated on the right side.

BTW many more mods to come, i have been inspired by deviousKA(how much backspacing you have on the circle racing wheels) to stay NA, unless i finish my KA-t setup by end of summer

thats cool, but I definetly think it woul dbe better were over on the battery side. Would make changing oil filter(s) easy too.

like adey asked, what are the benifits to this?

that thing is ugly

but honestly, you should have routed that line somewhere out of site.

it looks like you started polishing your valve cover

I'm with adey, what's the benefit? I'm curious.

On the second one you would only have to change it every 2nd or 3rd time you change your filter(s), if you wanted to. since the first one filtered out 98% of the junk and larger elements, the second one would only have to remove fine particles.
Or you could use a cheap filter that filters out 95% of the particles and use a better one after that filter filters. That way the first one filters the large particles and the second one worries about the finer ones

there are magnetic filters you can get as a secondary, to filter any fine metal shavings.... =)

OFF-TOPIC: What brand is that air filter/Where'd you get it? Looks exactly like the one I'm running...

ON-Topic: Looks badass, what kinda price did that run? What brand is the relocation kit? Alota work? And of course....wtf are the benefits?

Ghettokracker71-the relocation kit is made by perma-cool got it off jegs.com for 45shipped. My only difference is that I havent relocated the battery yet to take full use of that area on the right-side. The air filter is some generic one i picked up and used a K&N recharger kit on it, since i live on 5mins from K&N HQ i showed the design to one of the builders and he sed he will prototype one for me *free*.

nipplepinch666-you are correct about that, ill be switching over to a K&N primary and run a canton magnetic secondary

Adey/RBS14-the benefits i feel is that im up from 3.75 quarts to about 5-5.15quarts of oil now, no i did not lose oil pressure, this not once of those performance mod gains, its comparable to a longevity mod, besides its something not common to see on an NA KA

russian-no i did not start polishing the valve cover, when i bought the car, the VC was painted that cream color, when I had that full rebuild(check my first few posts) they put PS fluid on it to remove the paint, i dont mind it

PS i will need to devise another way to mount the ignition pack in a more secure place then b/w the air and oil filters *stay tuned for updates*

looks sharp, can you do me a favour and pot the dimmensions, i'm going to see if i have room for it on the passenger side, back where the wiper motor is located.

I was jus fuckin wih yah:P

I was thinking that the are a little too upside down for ease in oil changing

a stainless steel line would look WAY better than the pink thing ya got now.

i still don't see why 2 filters could ever be warranted...

Archangelprez - that pink line is 300psi rated hose line, tell me its not gonna hold up to 40-60psi oil press. BTW i prefer fuction over looks notice how i hav multi-colored zip ties, if it works use it...

uniac - there isnt enough room to mount it over by the wiper motor, even if you remove the wiper motor, i removed the motor to see if it wud fit, and there isn't enough room

Old_S13 - yah mike i know it looks hastily, im in the stage of trunking the battery and removing the wiper fluid bottle, once finished i will clean it up to your style of completion like on clearcorners

I hope that ping hose is not something like coolant hose which will deteriorate when used with oil. Will work fine for a while, them blammo, hose breaks and all your oil pumps out.
