Alright

So i've read in a few online sites that there is a possiblity of the M30/Q45 Differential working on a 240sx. They say that it uses the R200 Differential? Is there any truth to this Differential working on a 240sx? Also if anyone knew the years which had the 6 bolt flange that would be great!!!

Also on the Q45 which do I ask for? The one with traction control or with out?

Thanks for your time and knowledge

They do not fit.

The Q45 uses an R230, identical to the 300ZX TURBO. It does not bolt into the S13/S14 subframe...

IIRC, the M30 uses a weird rear suspension, some trailing arm setup...and has a diff similar to an older Z31 300ZX...the internals may be R200, but the case (or the whole diff) is not a bolt in deal.

If you read this on the 240sx.org page about diffs...that page sucks, lots of errors.

I have fixed the errors, and posted all the other good info for you:

Hope that helps... - Brian

The M30 uses the old skool Long snout R200 IIRC, S13s and S14s use Short snout diffs. So no, they wont work.

I'm kinda late but someone sent me this link acouple weeks ago:

this basically says that 97-01 q45 diff is a r200 much like our r200 but with a 3.69 R&P! There are differences but they are minor ones.

^^^ You might be right...last year, everyone though the Q45 used an R230 (junk yards listed it in the interchange), but after more research, it looks like they use an R200.

I hadn't seen hard evidence until now...so that's cool.

Looks like you can use a '97-01 Q45 diff with 92-94 J30 axles to fit an S13/S14.

Although IMO, a 3.69 ratio would suck...unless you have ~600rwhp.
