A friend of mine is giving me some Altima fans, but I've yet to look at these fans before so I'm not sure how they're wired and what not. Just want to get a basic idea. I really know nothing about wiring fans so any help is appreciated.

The previous owner of my car put really cheap ebay fans on my car which stopped working, but he did a good job wiring them with the relay and what not. Is it a simple task to just keep the Altima fans on high, wired exactly the same as my cheap ebay fans? Can I just cut the wires from the ebay fans and rewire them to the Altima fans with little work involved? Newbie question, but I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance.

Searching can answer all your questions in much more detail than any of us wish to repeat. It has all been covered in great detail because this is an extremely popular swap.

If you can't find it here try Google.

There are a number of write ups. Some keep the fan on high. Others use a thermo switch to kick on high. A good search on here and google will give you lets of information.

I guess Google won't answer your question about the relay setup of the ebay junk. If it is sufficient to power the Altima fans which draw 30 amps and you are happy with how it is set up you can wire them into that setup. If you are not sure if the system can support the fans then it is best to rip it all out and wire it up with one of the many other choices out there.

Thanks. I've been searching but all the write ups I've been finding are wired up differently and I couldn't find a specific answer to my question, which is why I posted here in the first place. Was looking for someone who had a good knowledge of the subject matter and could tell me if it's enough power for the Altima fans.

There's really not enough info, for anyone to really suggest anything better than what was previously posted. Like are the fans always on? What gauge wire do you have, are there 2 relays, etc. Wiring them up to be on high only, is just a matter of finding the correct wires, having functional or wired correctly cooling fans is a different story, add In a redundancy and or failsafe well it get difficult quick. Just be specific about what it is you want.
