Can OBD I be scanned by a reader or are we stuck reading the blinking light in diagnostic mode? Where is the port for OBD I scanner if it does work

The reason is i read the codes and its just saying EGR system and its not being specific and the other code says knock sensor

it should be able to be hooked up to a Consult there should be a port under the fuse panel at the top or under the dash on driver side

Your car is consult compatible and can tell you more than the obdI reader can. There is tons of diagnostics that consult can run.

Consult is the Nissan diag computer you can tuned with it but as soon as you turn off the consult or the car it goes back to stock. Nology i think has something that can tune obd1 with a pda

I'm not sure if the hard ware works with KA/SR cars yet. I'm having problems with mine, but the more eyes that look at the hardware the easier it will be to get it going.
