I was gonna get the new phantom grip extreme but ended up with a j30 vlsd for half the price. If you do get it ,,do a review on it.

That thread didn't come up with much info though,so I can understand why hes making a new one about it.

If the best show evAr (Tuner Transformation :jerkit: ) can use it...so can you!
I actually don't know anyone whose used Phantom Grip. Everyone will be quick to knock it but hardly anyone has any first hand experience with it. My advice would be to save up and get a real lsd or even a used vlsd.

If that thread didn't have enough info, you can search FA, I know a couple guys on there who have them.

Random Grip. Bad, bad thing and when you can get a vlsd for the same price.. I would get a vlsd. Most of the time, you can pick up one for $200 though, which would make the RG out of the question.

Or even run a search for the guy who welded the insides of his open diff. I doubt you have to do any more maintenence on a welded diff than a stock diff and you'll still have your 2 wheels locked. If I ever gothat route, i would have it welded by a professional.

All of the options in this thread except VLSD's suck. Phantom grip and welding. The problem with welding the spider gears together is that sometimes you do want traction (believe it or not), which welded spider gears do not offer. There is a reason why people pay the big $ for diffs, shit like phantom grips can't cut it. It may lock it up for you for a minute or two but it's completely random. I don't know about you, but I want my car to be predictable 100% of the time, which a Phantom Grip will not offer.

Yeah I'll agree with you on the predictable thing. I am one of those weirdos that likes traction...
