S14 to S15 firewall/dash swap

Ok people I have a real kouki s14 silvia shell and for some reason don't like the looks of the average s14 dash so I picked up a fully complete s15 front clip minus the motor and tranny with everything behind the dash and dash wiring.

My question is ........ will the firewall fit and if not how much will I have to trim?

I already know the situation with the door panels so I already have a set of s15 black spec R door panels about to get retrofitted to match the new dash. IMO I think the s15 dash clashes with the s14 door panels even when modified to fit.

Anyways any info would help. Done plenty of USDM to RHD swaps in the past BUT..... Not from one s-chassis to another. Definitely a lot of work.

Why are you swapping firewalls?

If I stay with the s14 firewall the ac,heater and motor won't match and since it will be a daily when it's done I would want those things to work. Plus when doing the s15 dash the mounting points will be off from what I've read and imo I love the s15 dash, wouldn't rhd a usdm for it but since my car is already a legit silvia might as well do it.

Yea we'll see how it turns out.

The S15 firewall is identical to the S14's. The dash bar is most likely the only change as far as mounting points go and I'd assume all blower, heater and AC items will bolt into place. I'd be doing a ton of investigative work before I went swapping an identical firewall out.

From the service manuals the stuff behind the dash looks a little different, but it could just look that way from the pictures that I saw. Yea id hate to chop up a firewall for no reason, thanks for the heads up.
Do you have any good pictures of the dashes from a service manual or actual pictures of the two showing the ac/heater stuff behind

ok heres some updates on the build and to clear up some of the debate if S15 will fit. The firewalls are extremely close in length (about 3 mills off) and the stamps are different for the heat and ac. the dash bolts up nicely but there is going to be a gap at the pillar unless you plan to do what im doing and make the s15 pillar plastics work (cut and mate the s14 and s15) ill update as soon as I get them uploaded and before the dash goes out to get flocked

now it looks kinda saggy but that's just because its not bolted and the weather stripping isn't in which closes up the windshield gap and some of the door gap.

So you did or didn't swap firewalls? And any electronic items can be made to work with newer units, you just need to repin some wires so they function identical.

Yea we did swap the firewall. ya I could re pin it but instead we're using the full s15 wiring from nose to tail
