damnit. I'm so sick of this shit.

GET IT OFF THE DAMN STREETS! Please. I'm glad it was a mailbox, and not some little girl's doggie or even worse.

Please, guys... don't do this stuff on the streets.

did you hit any curb? if you did.. check if your arms are bent..
and yes keep it off the streets..

Dousan_PG
05-24-2004, 11:55 AM
its ok to drift on streets but not residential
people like to sleep
and you'll only attract more attention to drifting
take it out to industrial or vacant areas.

TokyoNights
05-24-2004, 12:26 PM
I didnt hit a curb the mailbox had some bricks around it,which is what popped the tire. It was after 10 at night so no little kids or doggies would get hurt. I am also paying the guy for a new mailbox and post. Im happy that my airbags didnt pop though :w00t:

at least he was mature enough to pay for the mailbox (or wuz he caught). along with others who have posted before me keep it in less populated areas, so as to only endanger just you and your car. don't want the law cracking down like they did on GMR

responsibility isnt something you half-ass. i commend you for taking the blame and paying for it but with drift events almost EVERY wed and fri at dgtrials you have no excuse to be doing this on the street. like dousan said take it to some deserted back road or industrial area... we have plenty of them in NJ. there's no guarantee you won't hit someone in residential area after 10pm... what about stupid teenie bops out for walks and kids playing manhunt and shit... i used to do that all time when i was a kid.

it's either a lack of skill or common sense when you hit mailboxes and such,
i'm SURE there's some spot you can go out to, outside of residential neighborhoods, alot of us don't live near canyons/industrial areas but drive in the wee hours of the morning to get there and do our driving...
basically don't drift in residential areas, period.

hahaha

240Stilo - I think (hope) you learned you're lesson. I agree, if you are going to do it on a street, don't do it in the residential areas. You have a MUCH higher potential to seriously hurt someone in a residential area than in an industrial area. To be on the optimistic side, at least you hit a mailbox and not a person. :Ownedd:

You know that you are actually pretty lucky. Mailboxes don't belong to the people that have the house behind them, they belong to the U.S. Postal service, and they consider it damaging gov. property. One of my very close friends works for the Post Office, and he's seen it pushed as a felony. Keep that in mind next time you decide to drift through a neighborhood. If not for the chance of really f*kin up and ending up in some poor kids bedroom (I've seen it happen) then maybe for the Prison sentence that will follow if you piss of the wrong person. Now that your "all grown up" you get to reap the rewards and consequences of your actions.

hahaha, wasnt there some guy on here that drifted into someones house? i think he had a white S14...and his friend had a red car. wasnt that how dousans monster truck originated? ahhhh...memories... :)

aznpoopy
05-25-2004, 06:59 AM
i remember that. he said he just got his s14 and it was raining and for some reason he thought he could drift this corner. took it at like 80 and flew over the curb into someones yard and crashed into their house (?). i think the same person later came back with his car all fixed up with a kouki conversion (?). he put a pic of his car and his friends car up, at which point everyone started to make fun of him... bad offsets or something etc. - including dousan. at that point someone else (weirdstyles?) took the picture and added dousan's car with monster wheels crushing his car - hence the 'crushing ricer dreams.'

goddamn i just realized i spend too much time on this forum.

well, my drifting was accidental. I had a rear tire go flat and the rear end kicked out on me... i ebraked it for a sec to try to get it in a controlled skid... which i did okay( missed a telephone poll) and just ran overand enbankment.

hahahaa, it's funny how we hate the movie but keep on quoting it, soo many classic lines...

I'm going to thread jack here for a moment. The movie is pure classic, from those numerous quotable lines you mentioned to the method acting that Vin Diesel and company perform, nothing can top this film for cheese, absolutely NOTHING. Sure, the sequel had it's share of (in my opinon) better, much more unbelievable action set pieces but it lacked the *heart* and *soul* the first one had. There are only 2 lines I can think of from the sequel that are worth mentioning.

*everytime Devon Aoki and Paul Walker are on screen together*

"Whats up Suki?"

*first race scene*

"Why don't we kick it a nickel?"

Not to mention the cheapness of Tyrese, but that is among other things we can talk about later.

Yes, just as dumb as this thread is, I'm analyzing both films for what value they contain. In the first film, you had Walker's acting at the top of his game! Watch the scene when he confronts Diesel with his shot gun (I'm quoting from memory keep in mind).

"Dom put the gun down now!"

His body language says it all as he points the gun behind the door of the Supra, the concerned face of his and the care of his FRIEND as he is torn apart between LAW and FRIENDSHIP, what can get better this my car enthusiast comrades!?!?!?!?
