Up for sale is my 1998 BMW M3 sedan. It is a 5-speed, 4-door with 238k mi and a salvage title. There is no chasis damage, only cosmetic. I have the title in hand and the car is currently registered and insured in my name. I've spent a lot of money on repairs/maintenance, but it does need some work mechanically. This car has been completely reliable for me, runs well, fun to drive. I've just lost interest in the project myself. Doesn't burn oil, doesn't lose coolant. This would be a GREAT track/project car. You won't find another M3 for this price, much less one that is actually registered and with mods.
I have added different front suspension, it will be listed on the mod list with "NEW" next to it.
Mod list:

I'm sure there are a few things I'm forgetting as well...
Mechanical Issues:
-Vanos unit going bad, throwing check engine light (good used vanos unit included)
-air pump bad, throwing check engine light
-needs fan clutch (gets hot w/AC on)
-needs shocks (leaking, still rides great)
-needs tires (not corded, just worn)
-small leak from front crankshaft seal
-shifter seal leaks on trans
-needs trans mounts
Minor/non-essential issues:
-needs A/C compressor relay (delays A/C activation intermittently)
-sunroof not working, got stuck, motor un-plugged (suspect tracks dirty)
-needs brake wear sensors (I didn't install the front with the brakes)
-coolant level sensor defective (throws warning message on start-up)
-fuel door spring bad (manual latch installed)
-fuel door lock solenoid broken
I want to be as honest as possible. I'm a ASE certified master tech. I will be showing you the car at my work. I'm more than happy to lift the car up, hook up the scan tool, and go over every detail. This car isn't necessarily for everyone. You need to be able to work on it yourself. This would also make a great parts car for either a part-out or converting a non-M E36 to M3 specs. The parts value is close to double what I'm asking for the car.
