Why: Needed an LSD for drift event in Tampa yesterday
Aside from the massive understeer unless the car was sideways, I was VERY pleased with the result. Nothing on the car broke, including the diff itself. This including driving from Orlando to Tampa, competing in the event all day, and then returning to Orlando. Over 350 miles was put on the diff and it held fine.
I'd recommend it if you are open diff and the event is closeby. Around town driving completely sucks, although I was used to it by the time I returned home. Actual track use was SO MUCH cleaner, smoother, more predictable, more controllable than open diff. Basically a 2-way no-slip diff :rawk:
Anyhow, I'd read about people saying if you weld the diff you couldn't drive it on the street, the welds would break, etc and just wanted to clear up a few common misconceptions since I experienced one first hand.
Welded diffs pwn joo haha :wackit:
