I have a broken fender and i was wondering how much it would cost to buy a fender and then paint it with stock color. Whats the average costs?

I got mine from a junkyard for $30, then painted it with my dads spraygun. I painted the whole car though, it's hard (if not impossible) to match colors perfectly. Paint for one fender is cheap, painting the whole car cost me only $60-80 in paint.

When i was backed into the guy that replaced and painted my fender said there was about $400 bux for the fender and the paint and someone else to paint it.....i seriously dont know the cost but he did a pretty decent job matching the color also..... but he bought a NEW fender and some paint all from nissan...he didnt scope a junk yard..... if i had to venture a guess i would say $150 for fender, paint and do it yourself kinda thing....

So if you paint it yourself, the color wont exactly match? How does this happen? Also what kind of equipment and steps in painting? Thanks for the help guys.

It's just a bunch a variables that change the paint. Even if you use the same color, your orginal paint is older, the environment you're in affects it stuff like that. Pro painters have a "blending" technique to make it match but I've heard even that doesn't work too good.

It's really not that hard. Just wet-sand the clearcoat off with fine grit (leave some old paint on cause it makes a good bond), tape stuff up and spray. It's a good idea to bondo stuff at the same time if you need to. I bondo'd my wing holes, antenna and wiper holes, as well as a bunch of dents.
