I saw the new SE-R Sentra spec V today. It looks awesome. 175 Hp with v-spec tuned suspension and front strut tower brace, 17" alloys. I didn't even know Nissan made a spec V Sentra. #### I don't even know what Spec-V means. That's just what it said on the sticker invoice. Is that the Fwd sr motor? Anyway, I liked it!!

there's a whole deal on SE-R.net about what Spec V means. some said it means Specification Victory, but most agree that its just some phooey rumour. as for the asking price, you can get a Spec V for about 17-18k, some dealers are marking it up to 21. Theres some scandal about actual HP ratings, but i still think its a bad-ass car.
what kind of scandal? under-rated? over- rated? eh eh eh ?

wouldn't our cars be right at about that? cuz 155 ain't whp for our cars (91-98), is it?

naw... ka24de's are rated 155 crank, and then theres more drivetrain loss cuz its rwd, prolly a bit less than 140
but for all purposes other than driving in snow, rwd still better haha
yeah, from what i've read the 91+ 240's only have 135whp stock but nobody wants to talk about that...155hp woohoo!

For four grand more, I would much rather have an all-wheel-drive turbo; drift-ready:
WRX, baby!

its really hard to drift in awd thou...
they grip alot better, and the drift isnt as ... natural i guess u'd say, cuz the front wheels do more pulling too, ur angle is different
and the fac thtat they take the power form "the wheels that slip to the wheels that grip" ... if that quote is true, then you would theoretically have no push from the back, and it'd just turn into an fwd in a drift, hahaha good thing that doesnt seem to be true thou

look at the rally's n stuff, those awd cars take those turns fast at high speeds, they don't necessarily "drift," but i would in no way say they turn like they're fwd. take them on a dirt road, i'm sure u'll be able to drift them there n have more control than rwd. i've only known one person w/ awd though n he didn't want to ever drift his car n hurt his baby

i test drove the spec V and i thought it was a hoot. the car handles awesome, thanks to a great suspension, but mainly the HLSD. that's really what puts it light years ahead of other FWD contenders. as for the hp issue, i think it has been fixed. honestly, i never trusted SCC's numbers in the first place, they havent been super reliable in the past.
oh yeah, a Scoobie stickers around 24k. so in my eyes, the smart thing to do would be to get the Spec V now, and then in two years, trade it up for the 2003-4 STi. That way i would get my money's worth for both cars. hehe.
