Car:95 240sx
engine: rb25 s1,fmic,pod filter, freddy manifold, 3" exhaust stock boost(7psi),splitfire coilpacks, 255 walbro, everything else is stock.
Problem: Car idles fine with slight missfire every couple of seconds, but the the real problem is that when I start getting into boost especially third gear and up it starts to break up and bog. first and second really doesnt start to bog till about 5k rpm or so. it just started doing it yesterday.Any suggestions?

just took a quick look and found one of the intercooler pipes have slipped out of the couplers, took it for a quick drive and noticed that it gets worst as the car warms up leading me to believe it might be ignition related.

Do you have a boost gauge? Do you stay at 7psi the whole time?

Yes boost sits at 7 psi and this just recently started happening, boost hasn't been changed since I put the motor in the car. when it starts sputtering it sounds like a subaru.About a month ago i wrapped my coils in electric tape to try and resolve a very small misfire and I am starting to think that has anything to do with the problem?

Check all the ignitors, the pin inside the coilpack have a tendency to fall out or get correded. Might be worth popping them out and cleaning the contacts. Also, if you have extra coilpacks, start replacing them one at a time until the hesitation goes away.

what are the plugs gaped to?

mine did that... sounded like a wrx and didn't have power. I vented the spark plug/coil pack cover and it cooled the coil packs and it stopped the problem. I created a mesh cover for a coil pack cover and it has never happned again.

i checked all my couplers and they were fine, checked the sparks on each plug and coil pack. taking off that coil pack cover did the trick

Yah, you can check your spark by taking each spark plug out, plugging it back into the coilpack and grounding it. The replace the ones that are barely sparking.

I gapped my plugs to .028 the best that i could but there might be slight differences, now that I think about it i found like a sulfur colored residue on the tips of the the spark plug you know the part that hangs over like the letter "j" but I heard that it might be bad gas and is sometimes normal. I wrapped my coilpacks with electric tape and what i want to do first is eliminate that chance of overheating my coilpacks and leaving the plastic coilpack cover off, if the problem still persists FLIPSPRAY I will try your method and if any are bad I am just going to swap over to DB585 LSX truck coilpacks. What is the best way you have found to gap the plugs and what plugs do you recommend for my set-up. Much appreciated guys, your feedback has been awesome and keep it coming!!!

Alright here is what I did: I removed the coil packs removed the tabe around them and I notice one of the coil packs is wet i take a look and the valley where the spark plug sits is filled with water(probably from the day I washed my engine bay). Cleaned it up and pulled the spark plugs and took a look at them and the damn things weren't even gapped correctly, the where near the .040 range. So after gapping them and putting everything back on and drove the car until it became warm and then gave it the old lead right foot and man it pulls so much smoother and it doesn't break up near red line like it used too and the previous problems are gone all together. I also kept the plastic coil-pack cover off so the coil-packs get adequate air so they don't get hot and start breaking up spark. I would just like to thank you guy's for helping me and for all suggestions you guys gave.

Do you have a upgraded fuel pump? Best thing to do is plug in a fuel pressure gauge and see what happens when the problem occurs. Do this and give me and update BTW what mods do you have

I have a Walboro 255 for a fuel pump as far as mods go I really don't have anything but exhaust and manual boost controller
