I just purchased a '97 S14 with a VQ-35 engine. The *hybrid* electrical system is something of a mess. I'm trying to identify 3 electrical connectors that are attached side-by-side to a long black plastic 'bracket.' The bracket appears to have been attached to the engine compartment Fuse/Link box on the side closest to the firewall, but is now just dangling loosely in front of the Fuse Box.

No wires are plugged into these connectors, and there are NO other unused connectors in the vicinity. The wires from these connectors disappear into the wiring bundle that passes by the radiator, and on over to the driver's side of the engine compartment.

So far, I've had no luck finding these in the FSM. Given the thickness of some of the wires, I thought it would be easy... Hopefully, it will be easy for someone with S14 experience, who has these wires actually connected to something!

Those are used to connect to the lower harness. It looks like your car was an automatic at some point, hence why those plugs arent used anymore.

Yes, it was an auto, originally. While I was wiring under the dash, I noticed that the brake pedal had been narrowed with a hacksaw. I would have mentioned this fact, but it never occurred to me the automatic would require so much wiring. I wonder why they didn't remove it when they added the new engine/tranny?

Thanks VERY MUCH for this info!
