Got hit this morning

Well, I pulled out of my driveway this morning on my way to school like I do every morning. I pull into the parking lot at school and I open to door to get out. Less than a second later after I open my door, a car pulls into the spot next to me and smashes into my door. My door was ruined. Her car of course was fine. She's a friend. We decided not to report it to police or the insurance. Her mom came. After I tried to close the door again [it wouldn't] so it wouldn't be in the way i think it latched and i can open it now. :faint:

i went to a junkyard and found another door for 160. it's a different color red. mine is the common marron/burgandy, this one is a super red. i think that's the color Nissan called. Macco said they'd take the other door off and put the new on for about 150 or 160. i'm swapping out the interior and the locks. i'll get it painted later...not realy worried about it. i'll have pics posted later too.

tough luck, but ive got a deal for you. For $150, ill drive to your house, and put a perfect door on your car. its also not the correct color, but youd have to paint the red one anway. let me know if youre interested, i have the dorr sitting in my basement right now.

yeah... 150 to snap on a door... they're trying to rip you off. if you can handle a few basic tools you can swap your own door. who needs a matching car anyway? mismatched colors and messed up bumpers gives a car character.

Swap the door yourself and save money that you really should be spending.....since her insurance should be paying for it...friend or no friend...I'd make the other person pay.

I think your SOL because all of this is coming out of your pocket.....when most of us would make someone else pay for it.

i agree with everyone else about doing it yourself. It's not that hard and it doesn't take that long.

What i wouldn't do however is take the door to macco, UNLESS you do all the prep to it yourself, then the paint is fine. Also be prepaired for a slight difference in colour.

Even tho she is a friend, get some money out of her, last thing you need is to not beable to afford somthing because you have to pay for all of this.

well the problem is i can't open the door. it's jammed shut because we tried to shut it back so it wouldn't swing in the way. I"m not taking it to Maaco...they were trying to fuck me over. I'm taking it to a different body shop. my lock is messed up and it won't let go of the latch, so the guy said they're going to have to cut the door off...that's my only problem, getting hte door off. i'm sure i could mount a new one with someone helping me hold the door..so you know....

take off the interrior panels from the inside and the latches should be visable from there. quit being lazy. thats no way to go about getting hoo hoo
