Anyone do a 160K tune-up from the dealership on their 240?

How much was it and is it a wise thing to get done?

nope. I can tell you that shit will set you back at least 200+ since its a "major" tune up.Do it youself its not that hard. I do mines myself.
All you need to do is change the spark plugs, change your fuel filter, change you airfilter or clean it if you got a cone, change your oil and oil filte, change your spark plug wires, change your o2 sensor, I also clean out the throttle bottle with some carb choke to make sure i get that shit out.The if your belts are worn is the only real thing you need to go to a professional if you can't do it yourself. Basically regular stuff. BTW i have 181,XXX on KA dohc so ive been doing it for a while. All that stuff you could do own your own can save you money for stuff you can buy later.

Ehh I'm not big into doing shit myself....just gets annoying....So the 160K tune-up would be everything that you listed? cool...I need all that shit done as is since I have the ever-so cool shitty idle and hesitation when you get on it that everyone's getting lately.

well the shitty idle could be a series of things(you gotta check the other threads)
But usually goes - check or could be
o2 sensor needs to be replaced or malfunction(check engine light could be on)
Vaccum lines could be worn(same)
Need a tune-up
Throttle could be sticking
Other than that if its just rough idel without the check engine light
you just need a tune-up

Do the work yourself! When I first got my 240, I went to the stealership asking about a 160K tune-up, $430

Nissan rips people off around here, they wouldn't even take a look at my car when it was smoking in their parking lot, unless I paid $60 just to pull it in the service bay!:rant2:

Pretty much everything Buffalo Daughter said, if that's what a 160k tune up includes (educate me). Did all that except for the O2 sensor, I also changed the tranny fluid, cleaned the MAF, flushed my radiator since I changed the thermostat, and new brake pads all around. I really have no ideas what the 160k miles tune up includes, I just thought that it was really easy if that's all you have to do.

just be glad you dont have to take it to the Lexus dealer :D 1300-1500 for the 60k complete service

all the same, Nissan screws you on price and to be honest I dont trust them to do an amazing job... just take it to a trusted mechanic or... how about trust yourself to do it and think about the money you safe while you're doing it... it'll put a smile on your face

Yeah nissan here on captiol exp in san jo, california, they charge $90 for a diagnose or visual inspection. They wont look at it unless you are willing to pay. It is kinda of in a sick twisted sort of way worth it if you got the loot because they scrutize in finding problems you wont ever think you car ends up having.BUT i learned my lessons because beginning out when i first got my car back in 99 i used to go there to get it fixed. They have too much of my money on repairs that i should have done myself or gotten somewhere else.
But basically as i said before all that stuff, plus fluids,Maf's if you want and maybe the thermastat also(good idea WillioW) i forgot that one. And from there it should be up to par
