Is there a difference between 1/8 PT and 1/8 NPT? This may sound like a dumb question but I ASS-umed that they were the same. So, are they the same or different?? (this pretains to gauges...) Thanks, Jason.

There are different pipe thread. most u.s. stuff is NPT but most japanese (oil pressure switches etc. ) is BSPT. they are different but very close.

Max,
So that means I would have to get an adapter to convert 1/8 NPT to 1/8 BSPT for the gauge senders, right??

they're different pitches of threads, yes you need an adaptor

This is what I'm doing to install a mechanical AutoMeter oil pressure gauge.
