I'm going to get some Volk GT7's, stock rims will look bad with a G Four kit....

18x10+20 requires some serious massaging on an s14.no cutting/welding ,but paint may be in order. then again i have some big tires at 295/35/18.

Maybe Heartwork or Dousan can answer my question linked to this topic, how do you get stretched tires? Im thinking you of course have a wide rim like 17x9.5 or10.5 but like can you do it to a 17x9 rim or how about a 17x8? I have 17x9 advan sa3r's in the rear and currently rolling or potenza re-01's (235-45) but just wondered if i can stretch a tire on there and or would just like to learn about it.

of course you can stretch a tire, get a 215 or a 225 for that 9" wheel. I'm going to run 215 front 8.5" rim and 225 rear on a 9.5" rim both 45 height sidewall.

17x9 215/xx or 205/xx or 225/xx (mild stretch)

stretch tire is just a tire 'too small' for the wheel
its recommended size minus some.

i have 215/40/17 on a 9j
brian had 205/40/17 on a 9js
its stretched that the lip sticks out past the fender but the tire isnt..you can put a quarter beween the lip and tire. ive seen crazier but that's about the max i'd run on street setup

RE01s how the hell you get those!! hehehe..

Can you stretch a tire across stock 16x7 s14 se's, just a curious question?
Or say 17x8? thanks for the reply dousan.

you can stretch tires on any rim, just buy your tires about 5 sizes too small.

If you can fit a 245 up front I will be impressed! Especially on stock fenders. Personally I'd go 225/245 for ease of fitment on stock fenders. Stretched that'd look pretty good

How is handling affected by stretching the tires? Does it handle like crap with the 205 or 215's on 8.5" wheels and same with 225 or 235's on a 9.5" wheel? I want to get a set of wheels but since I am not making a lot of power I dont need anything bigger than 205/225 and even that is probably more tire than I really need. just curious?

275/40/R17's fit perfect in front with a mild fender pull. i did some test fitting on a 17x9 +30 (at least I think they were +30) rim with a 10mm spacer. Worked great. Cleared coilovers. No rub lock to lock. I'll be running 315/35/R17 in the rear..... haven't tested those yet though.

you should see what some of the japanese corolla guys run.
small, wide wheels, with SUPER small tires.
i think sometimes, people run 195s on a 9 inch. that is nuts. wow.

I've seen 205/40/17 on a 9.
I think it was 205/40/17 on a 10. right brian?
195 on a 10
and a guy claims 185 on a 9

i think Pazzy ol boy from merry ol england runs some retarded stretch.
i think it was sub-200 level and on a 9 or 10 inch wide wheel.

as for the 205/40/17 on a 9. i seen it too! ;)

yeah, paz says hes running 185 on a 9, but didn't your car have 205 on a 10" volk?

205 on a 9" isn't much of a stretch in some cases... the make and brand of tire also plays a critical role in the stretch appearance, and also the actual stretched dimensions (tread block design, corner tread design, rim protector rib, etc...)
205 on 9"
